Complaints

Reading through this forum it is very obvious that a lot of people (including myself) do not like the way the Judges are behaving/treating the dancers in this years show.

This may be a stab in the dark but I very much doubt that anyone within the BBC actually reads this forum (well not anyone with any power to make a difference)

I know that one induvidual voice wont make the BBC/Judges sit up and listen but a large group of people saying the same thing may have the desired effect.

Obviously marching to the BBC in protest is a very silly option but maybe a post/petition where we all aired our views in a sensible way which could be sent to the BBC could help??

Just an idea . . . . . . . will go hide for a while now while you all laugh at me!!

If BBC ever cares about opinions from the GBP, then they should assign each judge with a certain specific role. One on choreography, one on techniques, one on chemistry between the celeb and pro (passion etc.) and one simply on the overall 'performance' (this one can be controversial). Rather than now, Len one moment saying it's about techniques, then criticised Claire about her lack of performance as such... So confusing...

But don't they want public's reaction? If we disagree strongly with the judges then we are more likely to pick up the phone and vote more! In fact, that's what I did. I didn't see the need to vote for anyone until last Saturday, I so strongly disagreed with the score that Mark and Karen were getting that something in me 'snapped' and I voted more than 20x to voice my immense displeasure.

I should think the BBC are quite happy with any controversy about the judges to be frank. The last thing they want is no opinions on them and everybody happy with everything, there is no news value in that at all.

DerChef says

As long and the beeb are winning the rating war and people get so that those premium rate numbers are redialled they could not give a flying ____ at a rolling doughnut

Wouldn't it be nice if the viewer was ever listened to? I'm afraid that except for the odd researcher who speed reads relevant threads so as to be able to give Claudia chapter and verse to spout to eliminated couples, no one from the production team is interested in our opinions.
The ‘forum quotes’ are deliberate ploys to keep us watching ITT to hear our names read out! It’s not helped by straight after the program, threads appearing on here congratulating posters for having their names mentioned on the show!!!

If you consider it, the BBC licence fee system is as draconian as "an attachment of earnings."
Fail to pay and you're fined or jailed whether you like their programmes or not.

Now does anyone really think the are interested in what we think?

I did it in a more direct way, complaints to the BBC by writing and via the BBC website. They did mention from time to time (not in this programme) about the number of compliant they receive in particular programme. If the number is significant, they've to do something about it because it's the public money they are spending.

They do take complaints seriously. I made two - first two I have ever made.

One was considered by the BBC as petty, I feel, and I had a standard reply fairly quickly. However, my complaint has not repeated itself so perhaps it had been noted.

The other and potentially the greater complaint , because I heard nothing, I thought had fallen into a dark hole. However, no, yesterday I had proper individual reply - so I do believe they listen. For it to be taken really seriously it's not just words its evidence that's needed and from us not just expecting them to find it from past show tapes. Need to compile examples. The judging is subjective and moaning about subjectivity is pointless. Argue it from an objective angle what was said/what was scored/inconsistency - week on week - and you might get somewhere.
