"Strictly Come Dancing partners Claire King and Brendan Cole have been spotted kissing over dinner, sparking rumours they are more than just friends."

Ah topic headed up Gossip is going to attract my attention.
i hope this is true as I think Claire and Brendan would be very well suited to each other. Both feisty and sexy characters.

Pretty sure it's in one of the papers today, The Sun perhaps?

No can't be true surely? Claire's married isn't she?

Found it

Claire was married to Peter Amery, Chris Tate in Emmerdale, but they're either getting divorced, or already divorced.

How odd that this story should break the day before they potentially end up in the bottom 2 of saturday's show

The salient point seems to be

"An insider told the Daily Mirror..."

I guess that explains it all really.

yeah the 'insider' is usually the guy that works in editing that couldnt find a better story...

I really really wouldn't read too much into this. They obviously get on well, and were having dinner. I think they both realise their run on SCD is probably coming to an end this week or next. If they had a kiss, so what. Doesn't mean its a grand passion (crikey, don't think Brendan would want to go down that road again.....)
Outside tabloid land, men and women can be friends.

Call me cynical, but that was my first thought too

isn't it funny how these things always manage to be published just before another show

Just out of interest, why do people think that, if they were dating, that it would increase or effect their votes??

If anything this story would probably make people not vote for them, since she has a boyfriend anyway. Or so I thought.

i agree kat i can't see it being much of a vote winner...
who's going to think 'oooh those two have been kissing therefore, i think they deserve to win'

Good point. I don't think it would at all.

Is it that time of year again? I feel it's been slightly longer this year before the 'scoops' of Brendan at it like a rabbit with his partner!
I think the producers must be instigating and setting up these things when the viewing figures start to flag a bit.

It would presumably create interest in the couple (not for me I might say) and people may vote to keep them in to see what happens. If there is any truth in this, sounds like a set up to me. Maybe Brendans latest strategy to stay in? First the lifts, the no lifts, the aggro with the judges and possibly perceive love interest. Smacks of desperation to me if he had anything to do with it.

Gosh. If wish I was cynical. Then I'd think it was a PR stunt from one (or both) agents to drum up publicity before the show where they might go out.

Good job I'm not cynical though. I hope they have a long, loving relationship. Just like James and Camilla.

I think, we should all remember that
1. It was reported in a paper, therefore it must be true
2. I doubt that anyone who had no interest in Claire and Brendan to begin with will suddenly think, "oh, they're a couple. let's keep them in and see if they fall out/fall in love etc.
3. People will vote regardless for their favourite, no matter what they appear to be doing or have done.

Sorry, things like this just make me angry and needed to get it off my chest!!

Did Brendan cheat on Camilla with Natasha I missed first series?

I know what your saying but it is only a bit of Gossip not exactly geneva convention.

I think perhaps for the same reason Heat/Hello/OK/etc. sell in their millions. We love gossip,we love couples, we love to be voyuristic. If Claire and Brendan are going to provide Strictly with a 'romance' in some way, it's more of an incentive to keep them in and see what happens than, say, Carol and Matthew who can fade into the background/seem bland in comparison. People will want to watch their training footage for signs of something more, see how they behave on ITT and so on.

I know during the Brendan .v. Judges fiasco I didn't want them to go out becuase I wanted to see what would happen/how far Brendan would take it. It's the same principle really. I may even have voted a few times becuase of it, but don't tell anyone I admitted that.

If this comes form Brendan/his team in any way, it's very clever indeed.

Since when has everything thats in the news/papers true??

I dont see how it effects the competion at all . . . . . if anything it will be someone who doesnt like Brendan trying to re-errect his bad boy image because they are frightened that they may go out on Saturday as more and more people are agreeing with what Brendan has said all along.

The King/Cole bashers on this forum are bound to make something of the story and thats up to them but just remember how much of what the media reports is not exactly true
