Damn I keep missing these shows, the only thing reminding me are the topic reply emails.

Why can't they show it at a better time like 8pm in the week or on a Saturday/Sunday night? 11am on a Saturday is a crap idea, fair enough they're trying to emulate when it was originally shown but most of the viewers like myself will have families and be out for the day - not sitting in front of the TV all weekend.

Today's edition was from Saturday, 09 February, 1991.

this weeks episode included some songs I have never heard of like Spaceman 3 and Praise - Only You. The number one wasn't too good. The Simpsons - Do The Bartman.

Only You by Praise is a classic!

I'm glad someone else dated this episode. I couldn't be bothered to watch the whole thing- I felt like shit and ended up going back to sleep until 4PM (god knows why I felt like that this morning). I'll keep an eye for the midnight & thursday repeats- hopefully at least one of these is without the DOGs.

I have recently emailed Matt at the vault and he says he is planning to show the following episodes:
31/03/2007 1998 episode 27

07/04/2007 1996 episode 21

Does anyone know what other shows "Video Visuals" were respsonsible for and likely to own the copyrights? I notice that The Vault's current 'boyband weekend' is featuring vintage interviews so I'm curious to know which programmes these are likely to originate from?

It may well be footage that was shot for The Chart Show, as they had interviews over the last couple of years and likely more was shot than they actually showed.

I know Video Visuals were responsible for Star Test, and I think they had something to do with Network 7 as well and, I believe, Tricky, which was on ITV Saturday Mornings in late 1997. Not sure about anything else.

Thanks for the info James. I'm now hoping that The Vault will re-run 'Star Test' one day. I have the EPs I'm interested in on tape but it would be good to get them at pristine quality.

I don't remember 'Tricky'. Was it a music show?

No, it was a kids show, with an animated dragon. It was live, using computers to sync the mouth movements. Tune into Pop (the kids channel owned by Chart Show TV) and he's on there, only he's called Rorry now and has a totally different voice.

Who was one this weeks chart show
James2001

Looks like July 4th 1998 today which makes it one of the last ever episodes- only 7 more were made after this! Though I beleive the show continued to be made to be shown abroad for a while after that- it would be interesting to see some of those post September 1998 editions, though it would take away much of the point of the repeat run.

Also, were my eyes decieving me, or was that a young Sophie Ellis-Bextor during the "Next Week" bit?

Yes, in the band she used to involved with, The Audience. I'd heard of them but never seen a video.

Same here.

She had a bit more meat on her back in those days didn't she?

On the 10th Feb when they showed 2 episodes, could someone please tell me the date of the 1st one. Was it '1998 Valentine's show'?

Thanks.
James2001

Yes it was.

The second one was October 12th 1991- which should have gone out the previous week, but they accidently put out the one that had aired 2 weeks earlier instead.

Just watched the midnight repeat of today's edition, and was again a bit underwhelmed as I only enjoyed one of the songs played - Looking For Love by Karen Ramirez.

Fortunately, I made up for it by watching a couple of the older editions which James has uploaded to YouTube; it'd be great if you've got any more you're able to upload, as they were very enjoyable to watch.

I'm not wanting to put up too many episodes for various reasons, I do have the 21/12/1991 edition which I'm going to put up at some point, someone's sending me some editions from 1993 & 1994 as well (he says he also has the 1995 Special, and is trying to find it)- I'll put at least a couple of them up. I do have a few other editions, most are missing bits though, which prevents me from putting them up.

The tape I got with the 1988 Xmas special also had the first 2 editions from ITV (both missing the end credits sadly- which means I won't be putting them up) and the 30/4/89 edition (which is complete).
