Why ring them up over an issue like that? Whether you thing the DOG should be there or not, ringing them up over it is just going to give them the impression that those of us watching the show are some sort of obsessive nuts. It's not as if it's anywhere close to being the worst logo on television anyway- it's not as if it's big, colourful or animated, and it's not even in the 4:3 safe area so around half of it's in the side pillars anyway.

They showed the episode with that all time CLASSIC moment yesterday.... When they got to a certain song in the Top 10 and couldn't play it's video......you know what I'm talking about.

I only had the week's after Indie chart were it happened again on file prior to yesterday.

You mean The Verve video? I still personally find it quite intriguing, and would be interested to know the full story behind it to be honest. I think it was something like them wanting the video played in full with no graphics, but I could be wrong.

That's the story behind it that I heard as well. Quick question I didn't know they back airing again until this monday when I started tuning in. So have they already aired the first ever rock chart where they 'fast forward' every video yet? as my archive of specialist charts has the first few seconds of that one missing.

Yes, they showed that one last Sunday.

Todays episode surprisingly is 15th November 1997. I thought the episodes will carry on into 1998 after doing December I guess not !!!! Interesting to point out, is that this was the first indie chart and second chart show episode to have the fast forward symbol on every song on the charts !!!

It's a repeat of one they showed earlier in the week- they showed this one on Monday. Presumably they're sticking the odd repeat in amongst the new episodes as well- the episode on Wednesday was a repeat of the one from the previous Friday as well.

I've noticed one thing about these chart show episodes on the vault - They've editied out the video vault (the part where they play a vintage song) from part 1 and put it onto part 2. The original editions always had the video vault after the specialist chart, but on the vault's version, they've edited out and put it onto part 2

I see they have put it in 4:3 with a blurred image to make it look 16:9 and also have the year in the schedule.

Seems they are taking it more serious than last time.

I don't think they've re-edited it, at this point in time I think they might have still been in part 2, this was only a few weeks after they swapped the specialist chart and chart news around, so the producers at the time might still have been fiddling with the show's running order. Anyone got any original recordings of these last few episodes from 1997 to check?

I've got a clip of the rock chart from 29/11/97 (original chart show version) and at the end of Machine Head's song, the fast forward sign appears and then it goes to the vault, but on The Vault Channel from the same episode, the fast forward sign appears but doesn't go into the video vault. I'll upload the video of the differences on my YouTube channel (dee74raz).

Seems quite bizarre that they're messing with the ordering of songs, but I guess if they're not actually cutting anything, it's not that important.

I used to love watching the chart show, can't believe they are re-running this amazing show at last. But I don't have sky so can't watch it

I agree it's not that important if they haven't cut anything, but it would be interesting to know why they are changing the ordering of the songs !!!!

How can old editions of The Chart Show be repeated but not TOTP!

Have they showed any different editions over the last few days as the ones I saw over the weekend were on earlier last week?

Somebody has mentioned that The Vault sometimes has to re-arrange songs or even edit out some songs, because they need to fit in advertising scheduling. After all an episode of the vault would have 3 advert breaks, which are longer than those of the original version of 1997, which only had 2 advert breaks and were much shorter than the ones on the vault channel !!!!

The episodes on The Vault only have the original 2 advert breaks!

Oh yes you're right. I got it wrong, but nonetheless I presume the adverts would be much longer than the adverts that was shown on ITV and therefore maybe the vault had to edit or re-arrange songs to fit in the advertising schedule. Thats what I think why the vault re-edited the chart show, but then again I could be wrong. Who knows !!!

Today was April 18th 1998- clearly after reaching the end of 1997 they've decided to skip over 3 1/2 months! They didn't re-edit the order of songs today, but they did chop off the first half of the end credits for some reason!

Count yourselves lucky if this show was being repeated on itv or a new show they may have four ad breaks(one after 5 mins, one at 20 mins one at 30mins and one at about 45 mins and they would have to miss out at least two songs and not forgetting the extra time for increased promotional features.

The original show was 48 minutes long most tv shows today especially those from America like Lost and CSI are only 40 minutes long due to the adverts.

Ok no one else notice what happened yesterday?

Two thirds of an episode from about August 1997 until the last part where they re-aired the final part of the April 18th 1998 episode again.

Who-ever said they were putting the 'effort' in this time, think again.

Yes I noticed that too. Also if it a 1998 episode shouldn't they change the waste of space information banner on the screen aswell.
