One thing I want to know is this- is it one of you who's uploading episodes from The Vault (and videos from them) to YouTube? If it is, please stop. It could give them a reason to either take the episodes off, or at the very least to start DOGging them (Curiously, the 2/5/98 edition on YouTube is DOGged. I presume this must be from the Thursday repeat, my recording, from the Saturday is logo free. I hope they haven't started DOGging the Thursday repeats- especially as it's the only way I'll get to see this week's edition).

I have to say I agree with you there. Most stuff in the charts these days is total rubbish to be honest. And I hope this isn't down to me getting older- I'm only 20. I don't want to be getting to be a grumpy old sod yet!

no its not because you're getting older as i'm still in my teens and at the age that the record companies want the new top40 music to appeal too and even i'm liking the music on this every weeek more than the current new top40 tunes!

so its not because you are getting older lol!

I'm just watching through my copy of the episode now (I had to get my dad to record it, as the people who were meant to be fixing my dish have potsponed until Monday ) and I've actually got the date 4/1/1992 for this edition. If you're also using the Guinness book of hit singles, I can see how you might have got that date, as the system they use for dates is quite confusing. They use the date for the Saturday after the publication of the chart- 12 days after the single was released (and 7 days after the Chart Show edition was aired).

Edit: Just got to the ad break and seing they're confusing everyone by using the 1996-97 "Pause" symbol (presumably to hide the show's sponsorship) rather than the proper one for the era!

After watching in full, last week's is almost certinally the 11th January 1992. Even though all the songs in the Chart News section point to it being the previous week, Bohemian Rhapsody is in its 5th week at Number one, so it couldn't possibly have been any other week.

I'll be able to properly date this week's on Thursday providing the Satellite people don't postpone again ( ) or I'll have to get my dad to record it again.

I believe this episode is 27/9/1997, so Gaz, your estimate is a bit out.

Edit: Notice this edition was only 50 minutes, presumably this was one of the weeks there was Formula 1 on. I feel cheated . If it's any consolation, I worked out what the (blurred out) phone number for the competiton was- 0891 144 111 if anyone wants to ring .

Anyway, I'm off to watch the "Spice Up Your Life" programme on ITV that the Chart Show has just told me about. What? I've missed it by 9 1/2 years? Bugger

I don't think so. The whole thing is automated, someone's probabally programmed the computer wrong. This sort of thing happens all the time these days. We'll have to wait for Thursday and see if they show the right one then.

It just cut off early before the ad break- surely proof that someone messed up somewhere?

Edit: The thing at the end of the ad break said 1991, so clearly someone's put out the wrong episode. We're supposed be be getting one from 1991 this week (where's eps from 1993-95, we haven't had any of them yet. I'm wondering if the massively oversized & overexposed Twix logos are causing problems to edit out?).

I've emailed The Vault anyway. They were quick replying last time, so hopefully I'll get one back in a couple of days.

Edit: And now we've gone straight into part 3 without an ad break- I guess the ad breaks will be inserted at the point they appear in the episode we're meant to be seeing. Presumably we'll crash into one any minute now.

Edit: ahhh.... there we go, right in the middle of a song.

Edit: And now black screen after the end of the programme. Lovely Jubbly.

i sky+ the show to watch later and 5 mins into it i realised it was only on a few weeks ago so i just deleted it, so i didn't watch any classic chart show this week
