I had a list of CS Dance Charts from 1988 saved in a file on my PC and that top 10 was one of them. Hence being able to fill in that gap.
I do remember the June 1988 Dance Chart from transmission where either #9 or #10 was played then FFWD-ed past Samantha Fox's 'Naughty Girls' (the 'Love Too' part of the vocal slowed) and The Timelords was played at #7.
Do you have Heavy Metal lists! Only the 22nd July, 12th August and 2nd September remain of 1988.

I don't think many of James Brown's singles had promotional videos, so maybe it was The Pasadenas with Tribute (Right On).

I've spent many hours enjoying your CS eps on YouTube (thanks for those).
I did manage to catch a few on MySpace until they recently updated their format.
Dave Bryant had loads of the Channel 4 ones on MySpace but they've all vanished !
Actually, it was Benriggers who had those on MySpace.

I think they're still on there - but MySpace's update/change in format/layout has screwed things up and now we can't view them...

I didn't keep a record of the Heavy Metal or Indie charts as my interest in either genre didn't develop until about ten years ago.
It was only the Dance music scene I was into during the 80s & 90s.

You're right about Benriggers MySpace account storing the early Chart Shows, Dave had a few but not as many.My error.

The only Dance charts I have are the ones that Razdan's already posted earlier in this thread and from pre Aug '89 Chart File Updates scattered throughout Youtube & the old edition of MySpace thanks to the likes of Ben, Razdan, David, Cray & Steve.
I did manage to compile/file most of the Dance Charts from August 1987 to August 1989.. that was of course until the Chart File Updates ceased. After that, a weekly specialist chart was impossible to establish.

The recently discovered Network Charts from the late '80s did help me fill in some gaps.

Re: April 1st 1988 chart:

Taja Sevelles - 'Love Is Contagious' was down from the previous weeks #4 to #9.
Keith Sweat - 'I Want Her' was a non-mover (for a fourth consecutive week) at #7.

Yes Benriggers and myself had loads of episodes on MySpace. Unfortunately MySpace made my chart show videos non-playable when they updated their website and I was so annoyed, that I closed down my MySpace account, because it was not worth my time uploading over 160 chart show video clips again (some clips were full episodes). At least on YouTube they didn't make my videos unplayable after they updated their website.

I don't know about that - in a scan I saw of the 2nd April 1988 (which features stats of the 25th March episode) 'Love Is Contagious' had dropped out the top ten whilst 'I Want Her' had climbed to five.

Oh dear. I'll take your source as gospel. I've only got what I typed up last year.It will be an error on my part. It does seem a bizarre chart run for 'Love Is Contagious as it had climbed from six to 4 on the March 18th Dance chart only for it to drop from the top ten on the 25th March listing then climb back up to #9 a week later.
Thanks for the update though.

Sometimes the charts were like that.

You said previously you didn't have the 25th March listing. Well, if you're interested:

01. U DON'T TURN AROUND - ASWAD
02. N BASS (HOW LOW CAN YOU GO) - SIMON HARRIS
03. D I KNOW YOU GOT SOUL - ERIC B & RAKIM
04. U DREAMING - GLEN GOLDSMITH
05. U I WANT HER - KEITH SWEAT
06. U CROSS MY BROKEN HEART - SINITTA
07. U FAITH - WEE PAPA GIRL RAPPERS
08. N RECKLESS - AFRIKA BAMBAATAA & UB40
09. U PINK CADILLAC - NATALIE COLE
10. U DO THIS MY WAY - KID 'N' PLAY

This would've been in the Chart File Update presumably!

I think this is what happened:

When MySpace was updated, it took them a while to imported all the pictures & videos from users' accounts.

Razdan must've deleted his account while they were in the process of doing that.

It's still an annoyance on MySpace's part though...

If the songs you had listed for the 1st April chart matched the list posted before (i.e. 1-8 & 10) I don't think 9 is wrong.

Dance was undoubtedly a incredibly popular genre at the time - singles of said genre were constantly being released and were in and out the top ten before you knew it. 'Love Is Contagious' climbing back up isn't out of the question.

Out of curiousity though, how did the 10th June 1988 Dance Chart go (when it would've been in the C.F.U.).

THE CHART SHOW - Specialist Charts for early 1986, before it was taken off air between 20/06/86 and 01/08/86.

11th April 1986 - Heavy Metal, Network Album Chart
18th April 1986 - Indie, Compact Disc Chart
25th April 1986 - Reggae, Music Videos Chart
02nd May 1986 - Dance, UK Hits In The USA Chart
09th May 1986 - Heavy Metal, Network Album Chart
16th May 1986 - Indie, Compact Disc Chart
23rd May 1986 - Reggae, Music Videos Chart
30th May 1986 - Dance, Euro Chart *
06th June 1986 - Heavy Metal, Network Album Chart
13th June 1986 - Indie, Compact Disc

* Many people have claimed to seen the Euro Chart on The Chart Show including 23daves, when he commentated on a chart show video some years ago. I've found a source on evidence of people seeing a Euro Chart shown below:

http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1042098

Also the Times Archives mentioned the 30th May 1986 episode having a euro chart along with the dance chart. The Times online was accurate in mentioning the 13/06/86 episode having the indie and compact disc charts. However they were wrong in mentioning episodes in June and July. This is possibly because Channel 4 didn't update the TV schedules for the newspapers and magazines when the chart show was taken off the air without notice.

Well at least now that has been confirmed. More chart show data from 1986 should be coming up a week later.
