Can't think of any reason why they should not work. I am using the same brand discs 16x on now very old Panasonic recorders with no problems at all.....

I just want to make sure that 16x work on this model because it they don’t I can take them back because there still unopened but if your using them on a older Panasonic model then they should work
Have any of them failed on you? There’s a message in the spindle that says some Drive may not be compatible with 16x that’s why am unsure. |

I've regularly used Imation and Intenso 16x DVD-R on my E55 but, strangely, I could not get Verbatims to work at all.

Have any of them failed on you? There’s a message in the spindle that says some Drive may not be compatible with 16x that’s why am unsure. A while back when X8 discs were arriving this question of compatability in DVD recorders arose on the forums. I E-mailed Panasonic and they replied assuring me that the disc speed rating concerns do not apply to their DVD recorder.........Some DVD burners during that time were affected (Pioneer I think) and required a firm ware download to make the burners compatable for X8 recording...Without the update damage could possibly be done to the burner... I don't know if some burners need to be updated now but as far as I am aware don't worry about DVD recorders they handle any type of speed disc. If you open your discs and they fail for some reason your supplier should replace or refund regardless of the fact you have started using them. How else are you to know if they are valid discs without using them. If your supplier wont do this then change from where you purchase discs from... SVP communications are good at replacing problem discs...Over the years I have had a few replacements with no argument even when some of the discs have been used and replaced post free at that....... PS with regard to failed discs...They don't faill because of the speed rating they fail due to defects in manufacture. Yes i have had many a failed disc due to manufacture inc verbataim which at one time I would have given a 100% rating. Truth is any make can suffer quality control problems and sell you a failed disc.....Pretty rare for a total failur but sometimes you can get partial failure in which discs stutter or freeze or pixelate usualy on recordings made at the outer edge of the disc........ Don't be alarmed by this statement of fact as now a days most discs record ok most of the time.......There is never a 100% certainty in anything in life.
