Vodafone Data Cards Tariffs
angusde

All,

Back last Christmas I bought my 2 stepdaughters (now 17 & 20) laptops each.

I also took advantage of the Vodafone "free" datacard offer and got 2 datacards, each with a months "free" usage.

In the end daughter #1 has always had access to wireless and has never used her card. Daughter #2 started her first job in October, and lives in digs during the week.

A £47 credit sat on the vodafone account month after month since last Dec.

However.......

....Thursday I got my bank statement and it had a £47 credit from Vodafone on 3rd Oct. Daughter #2 started using the datacard on 8th Oct and on Friday I got a bill from Vodafone for her first months usage £187.24 today, for 82MB data ARGH ! ! So 10mins later I'm on the phone to Vodafone where i learn this months usage is now up to £586 for 293MB data..............

...For now I've put her on the unlimited tariff and am pursuing a review of the billing etc BUT whilst I accept I might have been lax in my studying of the small print, I remain gobsmacked at the differential between the PAYU tariff and the the limited/unlimited tariffs.

Anyone else have any experience of using these products etc?

As the contract(s) are up in Dec are there any cheaper options out there. The trouble is she's going to be working away at various locations during her training, and for now is still getting pangs of homesickness and I want her to have easy access to the internet/MSN and her friends etc,

Pay as you use is as it says, it is a contract but you pay per m.b that you download

The next tariff that is available is the Data 250 which is 250 meg per month for download and then charged per meg again

The final tariff is the Data Unlimited - with a fair usage policy of 1gb per month .
