Advice on PC video card to link to LCD TV
Hi all, I'm going to put this post on a couple places on this forum as it's PC related and TV related:
I am taking delivery of my Sony KDL46X2000 next week and want to link it up to my media centre pc. The standard dell video card (Geforce4 MX440 AGP 8X) won't be up to the job I doubt even though it has a DVI output. So, I want to upgrade the card to support the TV's 1920 x 1080p resolution, mainly to cope with decent games & photo's. The PC doesn't have PCi-express, so I need a good AGP 8x card that has an HDMI or DVi output. Budget would be around £100 - don't want to spend much more than that at the moment as the TV and other bits has left me out of pocket. Is it normal for a video card to output at that sort of resolution?? I run at 1280x 1024 at the moment on the PC's 18" TFT. I am quite knowledgeable on PC's, but have fallen behind the times on video cards and there is a huge choice out there. Would REALLY appreciate some advice from someone who has a similar setup or knows what the best card is, within my budget. Thanks! Stu |
