I say 37" cos I dont have the budget for a 40", and 32" is too small.

But essentially, I am looking for:

37
HD ready
built in Freeview receiver
MUST have 3 scart sockets

budget.... as yet undecided......... But obviously a quality brand would be preferred.

Cant understand why all tellies dont have 3 scarts now?? !!!

Need one for playstattion, PVR and DVD player and am surprised 3 does not come "as standard" when you are paying that much for one!

Suggestions?
Cheers

I'm the oposit to you can't understand why all tellies have so many scarts these days.

They tend to be HDMI and Component now as a replacement for scart.

Does your DVD player have component outputs? (as the Toshiba 37WLT66 has two scarts + a component input?)

Would it be worth investing in an AV receiver? You'd get the full 7.1 sound experience and you'd only need a couple of inputs in the TV?

Because most people that have a large quantity of equipment they want to connect usually use higher quality connections that SCART now. Each SCART connection costs money to add and most people will never use more than two.

For that set-up two, or even one SCART socket would be adequate. With two just use the first for the PVR, then connect the DVD Player to the second SCART socket on the PVR. If you want to watch a DVD put the PVR in standby. And use the second for the PlayStation. Or with one, use it for the DVD/PVR, and buy a component lead for the PlayStation (assuming its a PS2 - not sure if the PlayStation (1) supported component).

never heard of a "component lead", and am fairly tech- savvy..

(well, definitely not a novice anyway)

So basically most new tellys are using this new lead connection type?

Component connections have been around for years and were the best connection method until all-digital connections such as HDMI/DVI came along. See here for a good basic explanation.
