I don't think Matt and Lilia should win this year, but that is not because Lilia has won before, it's because I don't think he's the best dancer.

There's no reason why the same pro shouldn't win twice in a row.

It wouldn't bother me at all, because I think Lilia is a fabulous teacher. I agree with the "had their turn" feeling but I personally think that if the pro can teach the celebrity and they can get them to the final; then why shouldn't they win. Both Lilia and Darren, and sometimes Brendan are good teachers and they like any other professional on the show deserve to win.

Although I think Lilia is an excellent dancer, it would bother me if she won again as I think that there are better dancers than her in the competition this year and she has already won before.

Agreed. Time to leave methinks
No where near 'final-material' imo. Sad to say though, don't think they will leave tonight

Why is she lucky to still be in. Matt Dawson is not that bad of a dancer. He is the only Male celebrity to get a 10 this series.

I think it's as much about the pros as the celebs! There wouldn't be a show without them!! (Although I know what you mean, it is about which celeb is the best dancer.)

No IT DOESNT BOTHER ME IT SHOULD BE THE BEST CELEB NOT THE BAST PRO DANCER

Yes and no.

I have nothing truly against her winning again but in an ideal world I'd like to see a different pro get the crown...

I think it's partly the 'they've had their turn' feeling, and partly the comparison - when I see Emma I think she's good but she's not Jill, and Lilia&Matt feel like Darren Gough all over again (My favourite - that got me watching the show - was Lilia and Aled). Please understand - I'm not saying I'm right to feel like this and I'm not criticising anyone, but I think it is a factor, personally. I also think, though, that Lilia is the best teacher of all of them.”

I would try harder to resist it. The pairings are not decided by the couples - its entirely random if you end up with someone with chemistry with you or someone who won last year or someone the viewers like or not - so why reward it or penalise it on top of rewarding the actual performances? They all have partners in real life wheras some people seem to be voting on the Mills and Boon ticket.

The comparisons don't work either . Emma isn't as good as Zoe but Carol isn't as good as Emma or Zoe and Louisa is less consistent than Emma and less good than Zoe. if you have to vote for someone you have to compare the class of 2006 with each other not the better people of 2005. Basically if you ruled out everyone who was worse than their counterparts in previous years you would end up with no one to support. No one this year is as good as Colin or Zoe and even Mark lacks the journey story and the attack that won it for Darren.

Having said that I think you are are probably right to worry about history repeating itself - not because its wrong for similar winners to turn up but because its wrong if hunky sports people who are surprisingly good or who develop from bad to good on the show keep on winning just because the voters vote for the same old story/hunk every year - regardless of how well anyone else dances. We are heading for a Matt, Mark, Louisa final when its entirely arguable that Emma, Spooney or Ray are better or were potentially better than one or two of those finalists.

I disagree networkbabe that Emma deserves to be in the
final and anyway at this stage she has as much chance as the others.
I have been surprisingly unimpressed with her contribution to the show and I find her partnership dull dull, dull.

I think Louisa is better than Zoe at times.

I don't have a problem with Lilia winning again; I think she is the best all round dancer in SCD atm, so her winning it more than once isn't unusual. I don't think the problem of people not voting for Matt & Lilia because Lilia has already won it is going to arise though; Matt's place in the final is far from certain, and I don't think he will able to beat Mark or Louisa.

I just want to stress that I'm not against Emma or Matt winning - if they dance the best, good luck to them, honestly. But I do think that my reasons for voting are pretty irrational, on the whole, and I'm interested in why we all vote the way we do. My biggest weakness is picking who I like in week one and then sticking by them come what may, which I wish I didn't do because I hardly ever pick the right people!

I'm not a huge fan of Matt, but I adore Lillia. I'd be very happy if she won, because I feel she has great chemistry with anyone she dances with. She is also a brillaint choreographer, and if the improvement of Darren and Matt are anything to go by, possibly the best teacher. Darren (Bennett), on the other hand, does not seem to have any chemistry with anyone bar Lillia. I feel him and Jill won because of their great individual talents, not their partnership. I wouldn't want him to win again because I don't believe Emma is good enough or has shown much improvement.

SSCruel I agree that Emma has not shown any improvement
at all, her performances have been pretty much samey.
I do think that Darren B had chemistry with Jill, especially
in their final showdance.Even the judges commented on it.

When are people going to realise that the majority of the public vote comes from the viewing public who know "naff all" about dance?
I'd think the votes for Matt are helped by the appeal of Lilia, as for the viewers, she is both attractive, has an excellent personaliy and is the best female professional dancer.
A lot of her consistently good performances will influence the public vote for Matt to some extent.

As a big fan of Lillia, I must say it would not bother me if she & Matt reached the final, even though Lillia was in the final of the last series. It would just prove how good her teaching skills are, and I think it would be impractical not to allow professionals to win more than one final of the show.

However that said I can sympathise with the "she's had her turn" element, and I do feel that Anton, Camilla, Erin & Ian should reach the number 1 position. If you put restrictions on the number of times a professional could reach the final, well I think that would just demotivate them really, and make them less inclined to sign up to a series of SCD.

Yeah I admit it might become an influencing factor. I would prefer not to have the same pro win it back to back. But if I truly thought they were the best and my favourites it wouldn't matter.

But it's only one factor that might influence my vote. Tbh unless Matt and Lilia are up against Emma and Darren I can't imagine I'd be voting for them anyhow.

I wouldn't mind Lilia patnering the winner again if Matt turns out to be the best celeb in the end. I didn't warm to him at first but he deserved to do well in weeks 6 and 7. However, I see Louisa as the best all round dancer. I don't know why but I'm less impressed by Mark now whereas he seemed to be the run away winner a couple of weeks ago. It'll be interesting to see who gets Claire and Brendon's votes next week.

Cant understand the fuss over Mark, his neck and shoulders were hunched and stiff. I think he was overmarked tonight, as was Emma.
