Considering it's alleged he only went in to prevent his album flopping and hasn't exactly been the most interesting of contestants, I'd have thought slagging anyone off that was likely to vote for him wasn't the wisest idea.

Before tonight, he was struggling to register on the visiblity scale at all. At least now he has demonstrated he's got the germ of a personality. Well, it's more like a virus, or a Russian poison.

If you've grown up watching someone be in a wheelchair because they're ill, of course you're going to get upset when someone who's told you that they're in a wheelchair is dying and it's going to look suspicious when you're still seeing them three years later. And I don't mean to offend anyone by this comment, but if she could walk some places without a wheelchair and they've spent days with her then they'd see it. I'm not saying she's faking it at all, it's just a little bit suspicious if she saw them and tried to slowly lower herself into it when they saw her. Like I said, I don't mean to offend.
But yes, I just wanted to put my opinion on this forward because as a Matt Willis/Busted fan I can say that I'm not offended by those comments at all. I think the majority of them were said in context.”

Watching back the story about the girl with the wheelchair, it sounded more like he was mocking himself for being such a mug than actually slagging off the girl.
I thought it was clear from what he said that he was referring to those fans who crossed the line and actually invaded their personal space. I didn't even really see what he said as that rude. More just him relaying his shock that some people even cared enough to bother with him.

It was still stupid though, because the obsessive groupie types are the ones most likely to be sat hitting redail for hours at a time...surely...
Who the hell is he anyway?! He should be grateful that there are so many stupid people out there who are happy to be fans of such a talentless himbo!! First Scott...stating that Phina is the least well known (and I haven't heard of him until this show) and now another ungrateful, big-headed wannabe! Plllleaase!

he was slagging off the groupies - i.e the weird ones who have a screw loose. Surely his fans can see common sense and realise that there is a difference between a fan, and a groupie? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe not...bad move Matt

I think most of the Busted "groupies" have moved on by now, they probably don't even care about him. They'll be busy stalking down their next band.

I think the thing is that a lot of people expect wheelchair users to be unable to walk, and when they see you stand up they look at you as if you're Andy Pipkin!
