V550 turn off mms

My daughter has V550 on vodafone payg. Shes noticed her credit going down alarmingly recently without cause. We have sussed that one of her friends is sending her text messages via mms and each one has the paperclip symbol next to it. I think its downloading something which is costing her credit, is there a way to turn this off to save her ££. In settings i can only have auto/home or defer download? Any help appreciated.

Messages from Her friends cannot cost your daughter anything, even MMS messages with the paperclip attached.

She might be getting reversed billed for ringtones or games purchased from these shysters that advertise on TV. They deliver them via the SMS network. Reverse billing for MMS is pretty much unheard of at the moment.

So could either call the network and see if they'd be willing to de-activate MMS or you could sabotage the handsets MMS settings.

But I don't see how these MMS her mates are sending could be costing her credit. Check other things.

There is no way that her friends sending her pictures can cost your daughter money. Sounds like she's spending it herself and covering her tracks.

Thanks for that, but spoken to vodafone today and it appears that when an mms comes in, the phone downloads the attachment, but hers somehow has been dialing in incorrectly to retrieve and has been costing her 12pence per time! Its been dialing something silly like 9008*26261, they sent a browser update and its now fixed.

Just proves that its not always correct to assume the worst, i know i was thinking it, but she was adamant, so i had to ring them, glad now i didn't give her too much of a row
