Connecting PC to Toshiba WL66
FlatProblem
26-11-2006
I'm a bit stuck!

I can get my PC to show on my TV (37WL66) at 1024x768 - and it looks really crisp, however 1024x768 is 4:3 and I want a 16:9 picture.

1360x768 displays, and fills the screen, but it doesnt display properly... Its very fuzzy and lots of pixels are missing (the start button etc on windows XP can not be seen for example). Its much like "cinema" mode on regular tv, where everything is zoomed in.

My guess is that the the centre of the image is being stretched over the native resolution (1366x768) which is causing the fuzzy picture.

I tried playing round with powerstrip, but can't seem to get it right - I added a 1366x768 (although 1366 doesnt go into 8), and get the same result. Has anyone else got a resolution working with a WL66 range TV?

My dad has a 32WLT66 and that works fine at 1360x768 straight out of the box!

I've tried my PC (NVidia card) and laptop (ATI card) and both have the same results. I'm connecting using the VGA cable.

Don't try to fill the whole screen when using your pc. If you don't keep the 4:3 ratio it will be stretched. That's just the way it is.
Remember you can still watch telly in 16:9.
