Suddently he likes Jan? He used to really dislike her, he was on Scott and Phina's side about her a week or so ago. Why's he changed his tune? Is she that good a cook?

in a show like this opinions change from hour to hour.....

It shows.... that Gesty... is actively trying to influence and play the game, probably harder than anybody else...

He talks of Gaffney's 'desperateness' ... self projection, in my opinion.

Yeah SWW, I did notice that about Dean earlier. Pleasant enough chap he seems to me. He may scream like a girlie, but I don't know what David has against him

I think David is spot on about Dean, tbh......that whole performance by him in the Pit on tonights show was cringy-worthy.

As much as I like David he's trying to play the game...albeit very badly and very transparently. He's always promoting Jason and Matt...yet saying he himself shouldn't win...which I believe means, he thinks that Matt or Jason stand a damn good chance of winning, but he wants to win himself.

I don't think he has ever mentioned a female as a potential winner......I could be wrong.

His remarks about Dean are not game playing though IMO, he doesn't like Dean for some reason. I feel for Dean, he went in late and the men had bonded a lot better than the girls, making it difficult for Dean to become 'one of the boys'. Malandra had it a bit easier as most of the women were at each other's throats when she arrived, so all she had to do was stay out of the line of fire....and she seems closest to Myleene...sensible girl.

I might be totally wrong, but I`ve got a feeling that the reason he doesn`t like Dean is because yesterday, when they were deciding who should do the task, Dean said that David should do the next one after Mylene, as he has only done one, right at the beginning.

I`ve also got a theory that his stories are his way of making sure he has plenty of air time, as, going by what Jason said, he seems to spend the of the time in bed, and has everyone running round after him. Even trying to get Jan Leeming to do his washing for him!

Runs and hides quickly before David Gest fans beat me up.

I think your observations are spot on. David is the camp clown, but I don't see him doing very much esle. He also likes to dish out the tasks, and say who he thinks should win.

don't get me wrong, I find him entertaining but I don't think he's 'all that'.

Phew! I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought like that.

I have to admit he`s playing a very clever game though!

I think David is being pretty genuine. The more time you spend with someone the more you get to know them. Maybe he sees a different side to Jan.She is more relaxed now. But David is also desperately trying to change the publics veiw of him and it is getting near to the finish. I have changed my opinion of him.I really like him.

I'm a cynical old bat but I do think David is genuine. He's got a huge fee compared to the others so winning isnt a big deal to him. He was pushing the other two guys (Jason and Matt) because he likes them until Jason said that would have the opposite effect. I think he's just frisky when it comes to Jan as she's the only one near his age. If he was lusting after Mylene we'd all be appalled.

What a brave person you are to say such things...but totally spot on

What I have noticed is that he spends his time making up stories and never telling any of the group anything personal about himself, while the rest of the camp are being open books - e.g. what charity are you here for? Matt tells him about his sister and the charity she is patron of, Myleene tells him what charity she is there for but he makes up some stupid name to have a pop at his ex-wife - the camp still does not know what charity he is there for but he know about theirs. This is just one example and this way he is able to use what he learns about the group to his own advantage.

When he was 'leader' for the day, he made many long drawn out speeches - but as soon as Dean was made 'leader' for the day, David tells him to "keep it short". I personally think the reason he doesn't like Dean is maybe Dean has sussed his game-plan.

Well, Lauren clearly didn't like David before the show and I'm pretty certain she likes him now. Its possible for someone to change their opinion over time that demolishes first impressions.

I don't think Jason disliked Jan ,he gave her some good advice before the camp split and he;d already confided in her about his hair prior to the split,he just disliked her whinging and who can blame him

I have to say that he has pleasantly surprised me. Me and the OH were trying to think of reasons as to why Dave would appear on such a programme. He must be loaded. The only thing we could come up with was public persona and the need to change people's thoughts and opinions about him. As it goes, he's been very clever and it has clearly worked. He is a very funny guy, but then we are only shown bits where he is telling his 'stories'. What we are not shown is him laying in bed all day. And even though he doesn't physically do anything, he is getting a lot of airtime.

I agree that I think he has played a very clever game - and with the help of the editing, he's so far managed to pull it off.

people can & do completely change their tune on someone else & david is no different

first impressions can be confounded, once you get to know someone.

Dean tried to say this to David yesterday and he strongly denied it. He told Dean that he is a 'muli-millionaire' and he doesn't need the money, he also asked Dean why would he want to come on this programme and be 'bored'. Dean replied that if he really felt that way, then he should walk.

David doesn't like Dean because Dean has got him well and truely sussed (and David knows it).

Yep, Dean pretty much got David to show that he isn't being honest about his reasons for being on the show - he doesn't need the money, and doesn't have to stick around at endure boredom so why not just leave? David came out looking very shifty during that encounter - he insulted Dean's and the viewing publics intelligence.

I don't think David has damaged his chances as he has made so much excellent PR up until that point. As a fan, I'd say at worst I was disappointed.

David is deep down desperate to win. He probably doesn't need the money, but I doubt he is much respected amongst his peers. If the competiton really meant nothing to him, he would've walked, as John Lydon did.

With almost half the camp having been evicted, I would have thought at least one of the evictees would have chosen David as their favourite to win. However, he has yet to get a mention, never mind a vote.

Jason and Myleene have had the full support of the ex campers (3 votes each) and its obvious that David is NOT popular in the camp, despite his tall tales. The fact that he keeps them all awake every night is kept under wraps by the programme makers. Saw Phina on GMTV this morn and she was not giving him any good press at all and blasted him for spending 23 hrs a day in bed. All the public get to see is the guy who tells a good tale.

I agree. I do think that maybe at first he thought he would have been one of the first out. However, like ALL of them the competitive streak has kicked in and he now wants to win as well. Let's remember it is a game and it's being played by people who are in the most ruthless and competitive of industries. They may be using different stratigies to win, but they're ALL determined to cross the finishing line first, because that is the nature of the beast!

What I found interesting in relation to Dean and David's conversation is the fact the producers didn't show us what prompted the talk . I would have liked some context, as with all things but the producers have their own agenda
