Heard today that Dean Gaffney is not well liked withing the tv acting profession. And that is why he hasnt had any work since EastEnders.

Any truth in that rumour?

I think so...he said on the show it's been two years since he put his acting skills into practice...and it's not hard to believe a rumour that he's not well liked...

"Acting skill" is something he may have heard of, but he doesn't give much impression of being cognisant of what it involves.

Well, I have never heard of him doing anyone a bad turn, probably just bitching at the guy.

Some editor said once that a kiss and tell story on Dean Gaffney would be worth 25p.
He seemed to get alot of jerring and slagging of by the press.

Would that be the acting profession or the womanizing profession?

without wanting to sound picky...who did you hear from ? all the people he has ever worked with ...cast, crew etc?
there will always be people ready to knock somebody in the public eye...probably somebody they've had a brush with

i'm no fan of gaffney's but fairs fair

David hasn't heard of Dean before this so he has no stuff to go on...yet, he really doesn't like him. I can only surmise that he has a dislikeable element that David has picked up on. I have to admit that up to now, David has been quite right about most of the people in there (well, apart from Jason Donovan, who I think is quite sly)

I had to laugh when Dean said he hadn't used his 'acting skills' for two years. Some might have thought it had been a little longer than that

I know someone that met him once and thought he was an obnoxious oik who thinks the world revolves around him. David doesn't like him much - he called him whatsisname last night to Jason and Matt

From what I've seen not many people in there like him, I think David (and Phina) have just been the first ones to vocalise it.

Why?
What's the matter with him?

I'm genuinely confused because I can't see anything wrong with him and he seems fine to me.

A couple of my mates met him at the infamous Faces nightclub. He was lagging and shoved his head between a womans breasts and shouted 'Wellard' (honestly!!)

The words "in the profession" are superfluous.

Perhaps he was a party boy, at one time, and was late for work ect..?

He does not come across as a diva though and he never sold bad stories about the EE's cast, even though he is skint.

That is exactly my original question on the first post.

He looks and acts quite reasonably, as far as I can tell.

Well he was in The Bill a couple of weeks ago playing a pimp.

He seems ok to me but you don't know what he is really like in real life. However, his trial was the best one so far, so you have got to appreciate him for that alone.

let's face it, you don't need many acting skills to be in Eastenders, do you?

So did David Gest, by Lauren Booth for one. but now most of the viewers like him and everyone in the camp seems to too.

Just pointing out that you can't go by press stories, but Dean hasn't done a lot to refute them.

An old work mate went on a date with Dean *god knows why as she was a nice attractive girl*
