Sony 100Hz (old-ish) TV -- service setup codes?
I have an old Sony KVS2952U 100 Hz TV which looks like the red gun has dimmed a bit.
Is there a Service access code which I can type in on the remote control to get into some sort of Setup Menu etc ? Thanks Last edited by donelson : 27-11-2006 at 13:07. |

Hi,
This may work, it's for the Sony KV range with the AE2 chassis, yours may be the AE3; Switch TV off at the mains, hold any two buttons on the front of the set and switch on from the mains, it'll go into service mode. The letters TT may appear on the screen, hit menu and it'll show you various set up procedures. It may work. |

On my set, you then hit "01" to get the service menu. Then I was able to adjust the CRT gains for the Red, Green and Blue guns to correct the fault. Thanks! |

Is there any way to have the TV come on with Input 1 (Scart) selected?

Possibly, only my newer Sony I can use the manual tune menu (as if tuning in BBC1 etc) and where it says 'system I' I can scroll (change) through the AV channels... so essentially I can make button 1 use AV1 instead the analogue tuner.
Not sure if you can do that on your slight older model though......I have a feeling your tuning menu won't allow it. |

I can press the button which looks like: --[--> ]
(input select button) but it'd be nice to specify in the Setup that it power-on with SCART #1 as default. |

Now, some Sony's can have their TV channel numbers altered so instead of 1=BBC1, it could be that pressing 1 = AV1 or AV2 etc.... This means that when you power up the TV it goes to Ch1 which now displays AV1 Sky or whatever you set. It's more of a fix than a real answer to your question however...... OK, incase this is confusing, although I refer to using a Channel number (1,2,3 etc) I'm still referring to using scart. It's just that the scart input is told to be accessed by pressing a channel number. Not all Sonys can do this.
If your Sony can, you go to the manual tune menu, you choose the channel number to be tuned (1 for button 1) and there might be an option called 'System' which should show as 'I' (that's an 'i' not a '1'), now where this 'I' is, you might be able to change it to either 'I' or 'AV1' or 'AV1rgb' or 'AV2' etc... you scroll through several input options. However Donelson, I have a suspicion that your model can't do this.... Here's a pic of how my Sony tuning menu looks, it shows that 1 to 4 are analogue channels and 5 accesses Sky via SVideo socket etc Last edited by Orbitalzone : 03-12-2006 at 12:26. |

Does anyone know if above procedure would work on 28" Triniton range?
