Mike Reid
I read this on Orange homepage. Tis very sad news! Quote:
Is this the 'Ender Mike?
We’re sobbing into our sofa cushions at the news that EastEnders legend Mike Reid has turned down a £100,000 deal to return to Albert Square. The actor, who played Frank Butcher, has been approached no fewer than four times to resume the role. But the 66-year-old star insists he will never return. The reason? He got stuck on the M25 for four and a half hours as he tried to return home during his last stint of filming. Mike is also desperate to shake off the image of hoarse whisperer Frank and has recently filmed two episodes of The Bill, in which he plays a property developer. His agent David Hahn confirmed: “He has had repeated offers to go back but he just won’t do it. That period of his life is over. The last time he filmed for them he got stuck on the motorway for half a day. He rang me and said: ‘I now know why I left the f*****g show. Never again’.” |

I think Frank has run his course now anyway.

Frank Butcher was a legendary character, but i agree his character has definetly ran his course. I personally am glad that he's not coming back, we should remember him as a great character from the past and not bring him back for the future. Remember Den Watts?! He was a legendary character back when EE began, but these memories were ruined when he returned back in 2003/2004.
