Plasma Screen Above Open Fire

Is this likely to be problematic? i suppose it would sit a few feet about the fireplace.

Are there solutions available like heat resistant products to put under the mantle piece of the fireplace

Would be much appreciated for any tip / hints / advice

Apart from the heat the screen is almost certainly going to be too high up for comfortable viewing, all in all I'd say a bad idea.

Yeh, i do think are right, have you got any idea what is optimum height?

It's mostly about comfort and neck ache. The ideal position is if you are sitting comfortably then you should be looking straight at the screen, this usually means the middle of the screen will be about the height of your eyes or lower, you don't want to get neck ache.

Just sitting on your sofa looking at the wall should give you a good idea idea of the best height for you, it is completely about what's comfortable for you. Another guide is that TV cabinets are usually about the right height.

How uncomfortable a heigher screen is depends on how far away you sit, for a non optimal height screen 20' away you obviously have to tilt your neck more than 10' away.

I think Nat King Cole would be turning in his grave knowing that someone has tried to cash in on his famous Christmas hit
