Honest opinions needed, difference between 768 and 1080?

Given that the resolution is typically 1366x768 vs 1920x1080, there is a significant resolution advantage for the 1080 sets.
1049088 vs 2073600 = nearly 2x pixels

However, what you actually see still depends on the source resolution, which might be more often 1080i, or 1440x1080p, or 1280x720p, etc.
Not everything is going to be 1920x1080p

Well there's twice as many pixels.

How big a difference for you depends on what you use it for and how close you sit to the screen, you may see no difference at all.

My personal opinion is that a 1080 TV showing 1080 content blows the socks of any lower resolution sets showing the same content. (I have a 40" Sony Bravia X LCD.) Even 720p upscaled looks much better.
