Peep Shows: Series 3 DVD (can't get it to play)

I live in America, and I recently ordered the Peep Show DVD boxset (series 1-3); and I am having trouble getting the "Series Three" disc to play.

I have a temperamental (cheap) multi-region player that "usually" can play a region 2 disc, but it has been unable to play the series 2 and 3 discs.

So I decided to just watch them on my computer (a Mac), that allows four switches for the DVD-drive's region code.

Series 1 and 2 play fine; Series 3, however, is being difficult.
Apparently the S3 disc has a certain type of copy-protection that makes it difficult to read on computer DVD-drives.

Have any of the DS forum-folk found a way around this?
I'm hoping for a method that does not involve buying another multi-region player. TIA

Was finally able to get the disc to play on my (cheap) multi-region, but had to "grind" through about 2 minutes of choppy video, a pixelated screen that looked like some kind of broken-mirror-effect, and all the dropped frames. Apparently my multi needs to be warmed-up like an old car. (Its a Colby, btw.)
