Home Cinema advice Please.

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Samsung LE40R74BDX, partly as the opinion on this forum was very high for this t.v. I am very happy with the telly and now would like to get a sound system to match the t.v.
I am completely in the dark when it comes to this equipment and its various connectors etc. Any help would be really appreciated. After a little web browsing I have found the Samsung HT-THQ25R/XEU, which looks like it does what I need.
I have SkyHD, which looks great on the telly, but I don't know if or how I connect that to the Home Cinema. The HD box is using my HDMI slot, so the Home Cinema's upscaling DVD player will have to use the Component out, I assume the picture quality on this will still be better than SCART?
I also plan on purchasing an XBox 360. According to this forum the best way to connect this to the telly will be the VGA, but can this be connected to the HT-THQ25R/XEU as well as SkyHD?
Am I shooting for the moon with this set up? or will it be fairly straigh forward to so, and what cables etc. will I need? Any advice would be great.

Thanks,
S.

Well, I've done more digging online (there's not a lot out there on the system mentioned above) and I've found that there are no optical inputs. I think this rules it out as a viable surround sound system.
Any other options out there?

thanks,
S.

Get a dedicated AV amp (Denon, Yamaha, Sony) don't waste your time with the DVD all in 1 rubbish.

Then get a good sub, a dedicated centre 2 Front's and the 2 (or 3 for 6.1) rear speakers. Mission, Kef, Wharfdale are good for the money.

If you're not sure what to buy, find a good shop (sevenoaks? or at least a decent "What HomeCinema" kinda magazine.

The sound of your new hi-fi is going to be very much influenced by you. You'll be surprised how different hi-fi systems can sound - some light and whispy, others heavy and "in ya face" - some in between those two extremes - all exhibiting full clarity and detail - with the same source material - but sounding very different.

You really must go and listen for yourself. The last thing you want to do is spend a small fortune, only to find it sounds like the dog's breakfast, instead of the other end!

It's a shame there's no Lasky's any more - but Sevenoaks are a high end store, and you find a listening room and reasonable bargains at Richer Sounds too - they'll all bend over backwards to help a genuine audiophile, such as yourself .
