Hey everyone,
So when I first purchased my ipod my computer, for some reason, did not recognise the ipod therefore I used my laptop to get the songs on my ipod. Now I have a new computer which will definetly recognise the ipod however I do not want to connect as I'm worried I will loose all my songs....how do I get round this? Will I just have to put up with using the laptop?

How can you lose all the songs? An Ipod has a hard drive of its own. I would not worry. I switch it between my computer,my brothers and my mothers and friends often enough.

Just copy the library on the laptop to the new computer, instructions can be found at apple.com

Plug the iPod into the new computer and when you get the 'would you like to sync your iPod with your music library' or something along those lines, press No.

I've had friends come round to mine with iPods, and they work fine on my pc, without them losing any music. Give it a go.
