Hi all, I have just bought the Thomson DVD recorder with DVB-T.

When watching DVD's, it will automatically switch to widescreen mode and fill up my 16:9 screen. I have also noticed the menu where you can manually set this.

However, when watching TV, either the DVB-T TV, or an input on AV-2 from my Skybox, it remains in 4:3 mode. Where is the setting to make sure that it switches to 16:9?

Does anyone else have problems with Thomson PVR DVD recorders not displaying widescreen properly when watching TV?

I have tried to change the connections of my setup. This time with the SKY TV out SCART to the Thomson in, and then daisy chaining to the TV. When the Thomson is off, Sky is perfectly in widescreen. When watching through the Thomson whilst on (AV-2) it's squashed up 4:3???

Is this a fault with the Thomson box, a known issue that everyone has, or has it been fixed by a firmware/software update?

This forum is really for Thomson PVRs and a DVD recorder is not a PVR. You might find someone in the consumer electronics forum here might be better able to help. I'd make sure you post the model number though.

Thanks TrevorPH. I posted here, because my Thomson DVD recorder is also a PVR. It has all the features of a standard PVR with Hard drive, EPG, Live Pause of television etc.

My model is the DTH 8657 with DVB-t tuner.
