Homechoice 4mths free offer (AGAIN!)
Well when 4mths ago the friendly cust care lady said "stick around, we'll give you 4mths free max pack + max speed" I figured why not!
She said changes will be announced at the start of Nov! So I stuck around. And today when I called and said nothing had changed, no new announcements I want to leave as my 4mths ends in Dec they said, "Why not have yet another 4mths free!" Cause changes are happening in the new year! Well I have another 4mths now then! That will be 8mths free in total! How can they afford this?? What must these changes be in the new year! HC must believe they are big enough for people to want to stay!!!! |

When did your 4 months start?
After ringing customers services I too have got 4 months free on Max Pack.
However (while I dont want to watch them) I am still not receiving the kids pack - which suggests that I am not getting Max Pack at all. Did yours run from the next billing period or calender month? D |

Well I think from next billing record as he said the first 4mths was to expire on 18th Dec 06. And he has re-newed it from now....
I get MAX speed and MAX pack, every channel! At first I was not getting max speed. I called them and told them this and within a day I was hitting 6mbps! |

Are all you guys past your 12 months contract then?
Edit: heh, just called them and asked for 4 months free, the woman said ok. Sorted. All she said was there's "something" planned "soon". Last edited by iSix : 02-12-2006 at 10:53. |

![]() But, yeah, I just phoned up, said people here were shouting about how they got 4 months free, I want the same, and she sorted it. |

Well, I've just subscribed to Sky HD so called HC to cancel. They offered the 4 months for free too. So I get the Max pack, all the music channels, 8Meg for nowt for 4 months! Even with Sky there's no reason not to do that as I was going to add on to the Sky package for Broadband & phone calls but why bother when HC will give it for free for 4 months.
All I said was I was about to leave for Sky because of HD & they offer Broadband & phone calls too so there was no reason to stay if they can't do HD. The woman did mention the merger and said they don't have a date for HD so they can't promise anything but why not hang on for 4 months.

Well well lucky you guys. I just rang and said I wanted to leave and they said ok lol
![]() So we had to backtrack and say we are thinking about it and just wanted to know the process. Its a bit crap. We have been with HC since they launched many moons ago and yet we get sod all. But looking at it all, it seems BT Vision is a better option now for me. |

Well you do have to ask them - for example whether there are any 'incentives' to stay, or similar...

I had to prompt for the 4 months free after they told me new stuff is on the way by saying "is there any incentive for me to stay in the interim"
Maybe so many people may be ringing up for it now they are now calling people's bluff. |

Well its the only way I will stay with them now. So the bluff will fail.
![]() I'm quite looking forward to trying BT, I quite like new stuff. If it isn't to my liking I can always shift back to Homechoice. I am actually hoping that Tiscali have sold it to someone who will do something big with it. |

4 months free now 2 months
I called and said i was thinking about leaving and was put through to the retention dept. I was offered max pack free for two months. I said I had seen reports here about 4 months free and was told that offer was now closed.
Does anyone know how reliable the sky internet service is? |

Forgot to add that BTVision only offers Freeview channels (it is basically a Freeview box) with addition VoD.
You will loose the linear service of channels such as UKGold, Discovery etc. |

No 4 months ..
Well, I thought that I'd ask to leave and see if they tried to entice me ... nope, no mention, just went through the disconnect conversation. Well, I've pretty much decided to go anyway, so sod it. I've now only got one choice, and that's freeview, so I'm as good as stuck with it.
Will see if I can 'giddy-up' my block of flats to get Sky installed. |
