Nothing constructive here ... just wish thomson would sell there DHD4000 to another company so it would come back on the market. It has the best EPG of any freeview box out there and is as good as the Sky+ EPG.

I've looked at other boxes but the EPG is rubbish compared to the thomson.

I guess they are a bit busy firing out Sky boxes now!!

Good call SMCSI; a poorly designed/hard to use EPG ruins the whole experience.

I have a Sony TV with a very good EPG, maybe the Sony PVR boxes have good ones too?

The Thomson epg is dire. It provides the bare minimum facilities. You can't look ahead to the next day, except by menuing via the calendar. It doesn't show what programs are set to record. You can't speedily scroll through the program lists, and the full page view is a marginal improvement.

Even the Sagems do a better job than Thomson, but the Tech/Tev 101/801s are better than both of these, despite their huge failings.

4/10, could do better.
