This might seem like a simple question, and may well have a simple answer, but to someone like me, it seems like rocket science.
I have been given a cd of various video recordings of dance scenes from a recent birthday party. The format of the files appear to be VOB whatever they are, and when I try to save them or do things with them on my pc, all of my programmes appear not to work with it, and quote media player type files etc. The files on the cd also appear to take up a lot of memory, I am assuming that it is because of the format.
How can I convert the files into a computer friendly format. I have heard about free software, vobedit (I think) but I am lost on the explanation of how that works. Is there a simple way, or am I stuck?
Any help or guidance would be most appreciated.
