You can watch episode 1 of Take the High Road by following this link.

http://www.scotlandontv.tv/

The track playing in Fiona Cunningham's garage is Bonnie Tyler's "The world is full of married men"

Do you know if that series is going to be shown again? It's
one of my favourites. It never seems to be repeated!

I would've thought that Scottish Television at least would have started to repeat the series, either over night or in the afternoon!!

STV would never show Take the High Road again since quite a lot of people want it....they only show stuff people don't want.

Hi Do you reckon UK Gold could re - show it again or even one of the ITV stations. I think the ITV stations show enough of BBC repeats.

I did enjoy that, just like the old days. DVD would be brilliant but cannot see it happening.

I'm sure it has been repeated in the mid-90's on Sky Soap? I can recall seeing it on satellite (as it was then) as 'Take the High Road', then on Central (where I live) as 'High Road'!

I wasn't a fan, but used to tune in occasionally for the accents and scenery!

Re: the first episode...

When Elizabeth is persuading Max not to "clear the glen" and mentions that "the people of glendarroch would never stand for another clearance", is she referring to The Highland Clearances of the 1800s? Is Herr Langemann planning a clearance of this style?

I find Fiona and her mother's accents interesting. Im assuming it was etiquette for people of their standing to talk RP?

Does he try to follow his plan through?

I take it Ken Calder is a recovering alcoholic?

Does Amy die when giving birth to her and Dougal's son, Donald?

Were they local aristos?? If so I believe it's common practice for Scottish aristos to send their kids to English public schools

Is the actress who played Mrs Mack still alive??

Yes, I believe that the Cunninghams were - especially going by the scene where Isabel reminds her son to "remember who she is".

Is it true that Mrs Mack appeared during 1980, the first year of the show?

Can they show it again though? It never really had a proper ending.

I cant find anything which says when cast members joined, but in an interview she talked of how they the cast were like a family and had been together for 22 years , now the show ran for nearly 23 years but they actually stopped filming in 2002 the year before it ended , so I would imagine that yes she probably did appear during that first year.

Does anyone remember that Mrs Mack used to go away and her 'twin' used to take her place? Of course, the part was also played by Gynweth Guthrie. What was her name??
