The advert states it supports 1080p singnels but does that mean it's a true 1080p screen?

And for the price it seems a pretty decent deal.

Yes it is a full 1080 panel and will accept 1080p on hdmi, I'm not sure about vga and component. Please note resolution is not the be all and end all of a screen.

You mght also consider models by Sharp and Goodmans for 1080p. If you look on AV forums they have very large threads on all these TVs which should help you choose.
