Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape album
Got a sneak preview of this. Have to say, it's not as bad as I expected. 'Early Winter' and 'Wonderful Life' are both great pop songs, and the title track is one of the best things she's ever done. The less said about some of the more hip hop influenced tracks the better, though.
Anyone else got this yet? |

I've got Early Wnter and I think its stunning.
Hate the single though. Don't particularly want the rest of the album tbh, but I was interested in the Gwen and Tim Rice- Oxley collaboration. It works.

Whenever 'Wind It Up' comes on I just have to listen to it, but I'm not sure if I like it yet, but it just yearns to be listened to.
I have downloaded the album on the strength and am going to make the effort to sit down and listen to it, but I think it may take a few listens before I am sure. |

I loved LAMB and I used to like No Doubt so when I heard Wind It Up I was disappointed becuase I was expecting a really good comeback song, I do like it now though cus I've let it grow on me and I've really tried to like it. When I read somewhere that the album got leaked I tried to download it and I got it
It's a really good album, on par with LAMB for sure. U Started It and The Sweet Escape are my favourites atm but the whole album is great and I'm def gonna buy it on Monday!

I like it. Not a patch on LAMB, in my opinion, but it's certainly a decent release. "Early Winter", "4 In The Morning", "The Sweet Escape", "Fluorescent", "Wonderful Life" and "Don't Get It Twisted" are my favourites.

4 in the Morning, Breakin' Up and the music at the end of Yummy are my favourites. <3 I love this album so much more than L.A.M.B.

I will be buying this album. LAMB is one of my favourites ever, and I love Wind it Up. The woman can't do anything wrong for me.
Funny thing is I don't remember No Doubt, or any No Doubt songs! Weird! Were No Doubt any good?

Ermmm yeah! They were awesome, and I'm sure you'd recognise Don't Speak, Just A Girl or Hella Good if you heard them. Seriously, if you like Gwen then you will love No Doubt, invest in buying their CD's

Love Gwen/No Doubt. Return of Saturn is a sadly overlooked album by No Doubt - i'd advise listening to that it's fantastic! No Neptunes computerised nonsense just pure raw pop.
Been streaming songs from Sweet Escape on youtube and have to say I'm pretty impressed. I was a big fan of LAMB not into her RnB stuff tho. The title track is great. As it was featuring akon I thought it would be ghetto Gwen but it's got a real 60's flavour, Akon is great on it. Some nice ballads which remind me of Return to Saturn. Will certainly be purchasing this album. |

Also after hearing Gwen is thinking about getting back with the band for a new ND album soon I am happier than ever |

This album is the definition of a 'grower'. I wasn't impressed at all on first listen, as while I love Wind It Up, I wasn't keen on the idea of a whole album of similar tracks. But then you have songs like Early Winter, 4 In The Morning and Wonderful Life, it breaks up the Wind It Up-style stuff nicely. I'm kinda bored of Pharrell now, though. All-in-all, a nice follow-up to L.A.M.B. It seems like more of a complete album too, whereas L.A.M.B has lots of good songs that happened to be on the same disc.

I've got it, not really as good as LAMB though, two stand out tracks for me as to be Early Winter and Wonderful Life, but unfortunately, its nowhere to be seen inside the top 20 this week, it seems she has released it at the wrong time of the year. They are too many big albums in the top 10

Trouble tv are getting people to send in a version of Wind it up .... Ah not sure if I've got a habit for this one.
Got to say the album as a whole rivals LAMB - not quite as good but close. Stand out track for me was sweet escape. Bit dissapointed about the chart position. Whats that about? Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish. As far as I can make out this should be a top ten album. |

Just came on to say how bloody good is this album! I'm absolutely loving it. My favourite track is wonderful life. There at least 7 songs that could be singles (not that she'll release that many). When i first heard 'wind it up' i though "oh dear!" but now i love that too. It's an album that makes you want to go back and listen to it which is rare these days. Highly recommended
