Hi, First post on the forum tonight, hope it is an easy one. We are moving to ROI from the UK. We have a Sony Bravia HD television - KDL32S202OU. We have the Sky HD box and we also have a Phillips TV in the bedroom with a Sky+ box. Will these work in ROI? We will move our Sky account to ROI with us so will be watching TV via Sky.

Yes, all your equipment will work fine.

Once you are in Ireland (seeing as you are changing address, and Sky will need to be informed of this) you will need to change your Sky subscription to the Irish one. Basically it's the more or less the same as the UK one, but you will have RTE1, RTE2,TV3 etc.... on the EPG instead of CH4, CH5, ITV etc.....although ITV can be viewed by tuning to the correct frequency, it is not visible on the EPG. CH4 and CH5 cannot be viewed in ROI, amongnst various others (that you probably wouldnt watch anyway).

Just get the list of what you can watch in Ireland. I presume you have the SKY World package anyway?

Technically the viewing card/cards you have at the moment (UK Subscription) will work in ROI too, but legally you are meant to inform SKY if you change address, so it's probably best to, and switch over to the ROI subscription.

I would imagine you'd have to be issued new viewing cards too.

Sky will let you know anyway.

No one can watch channel 4 in ROI? On some TV shows on Channel 4 they give you ROI number to vote etc.??

Channel 4 has come on the ROI EPG as of last Monday.

Yes, ofcourse show TV shows on Channel 4 will gibe ROI numbers, as SKY is not the only provider around.

Lots of TV Providers include Channel 4 with their package in ROI.
