I have a Denon AVR2803 AV Receiver, with a pair of B&W DM602 Series 2 front speakers, DM601 Series 1 rears and a Gale Centre speaker (will be heaved in favour of a B&W sometime in the not too distant future if I get my way).

I also have an old pair of Mordaunt Short MS10's that I have put into the kitchen so that I've got something to listen to while doing my Jamie Oliver bit.
Now, here's the problem - I tried to connect the MS10's to the Surround Back/Zone2 outputs on the back of the amp and got absolutely nothing from them. I did remember to go into the menu and change the power amp assignment from Surround Back to Zone 2, so its not that.

The net result is that I've had to un-do the bi-wiring to my front speakers and put the connections for the MS10's onto the 'B' terminals; and here's the rub, I now feel that the sound on my main speakers has gone flat, and that I am having to drive the amp harder than I used to to get the same result. Have I missed something, or is my amp faulty ?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

PS - much as I love swapping and changing hi-fi and AV kit, I doubt that either Mr Bank Manager or Mrs Controller would allow me just now, so a new amp isn't really an option.
