I've just moved to Vodafone from Orange, but everyone keeps telling me they rubbish! From my experience so far i've had no problems. Im enjoying cheap off peak calls to any network which can't be bad.
Vodafone are good I've added stop the clock, free weekends, bought a 675 text bundle and am on the anynet price plan so my evening calls to any network are 30p an hour.
I have to spend £5 in the week to get free weekends but the cost comes out of my text allowance. So if I send 50 texts from my bundle I get free calls and texts to any network all weekend without using any credit.
I was on T-Mobile Flext but moved to Vodafone with 800 mins + Stop The Clock + Vodafone Passport + 1,000 Free Texts for £25/month for the first 3 months then £50/month with a free Sony Ericsson W850i White
It's a hard choice but Vodafone are cheaper for off peak calling but if its picture messaging your looking for stay with T-Mobile as their included in your allowance, Vodafone charge 36p each for them on top of your bill and offer no bundles.

Thats on contract but you can buy bundles on pay as you talk for texts but I don't know about MMS.

That's one of the things i don't like about Vodafone - most of the other networks include picture messaging into their packages in one way or another (O2 - 4 sms =1 mms, 3 give you some free and with flext it's all together) but Vodafone don't seem to include it at all. I thought that they might have it as one of the extras but apparently not.
(Trying to make head or tail of getting a new phone and contract is crazy. )

Customer Services told me that they used to cost 3 text messages but they stopped it and apparently they used to have bundles but they stopped them as well.

Seems ridiculous really... they didn't say why? Sending a few picture messages a month and the price will really start to add up!

Nope but they said they were looking into offering it.
Yeh on my old tarriff I had 350 mins and 500 texts and stop the clock from vodafone for £40 a month. It did used to include MMS and also WAP came off the text bundle to. As off September the 1st they stopped allowing my MMS to be included I e-mailed and called up to customer services to complain as that was why I picked that tarriff since everything I did was included hence my bill would never go above £40! They didn't change it for me just said that was the way it is! I know most companies can change if they give you notice but I think that was poor on Vodafones part as you are already a customer. Why did they not just just include this rule in the new tarriffs bugs me! One thing I don't like about Vodafone is they don't give you good retention deals like O2 do.
I've always been with Vodafone for the last 10+ years and would not change.
I think Vodafone usually works out a little bit more than the rest of the networks, but I've always found the reception to be better than T-Mobile & Orange (can't speak for O2 thought).
I do a lot of driving around for my job and always found it to be reliable.
I've been with vod since 2000 and was very happy. free calls to CS is a bonus. and they've offered me some good deals over the years.
However, as mentioned before with the MMS. when i signed this contract with vod my mms came out of my bundle of texts at 3 texts per MMS. then midway through the contract they changed this and as a consequence my bill has gone up by several pounds a month.
ive been with every network apart from 3 which my parents are with, and to be honest at the moment no network actually is "the best" everyone has had experiences with networks which dictates how they may feel about it but at the moment no network is an absolute better than another.
Go with the network you feel comfortable with, soon loyalty will mean something.
