I am looking at buying the following LCD TV, Samsung 26" LE26R74BDX/XEU Freeview HD Ready LCD TV.

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Elec...V/Product.html

I would like to connect my PC, Xbox 360, DVD Player which is not progressive scan and my Sky+ box.

What would be the best way to connect all these items?
I am trying to find out which cable I should connect each piece of equipment with to provide the best picture.
I have several scart leads but I understand the quality of scart leads have a huge effect on the picture quality.

I think I have my PC and Xbox covered but could do with some advice on the other 2.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dont think the Sky box can do component so it looks like scart with RGB turned on. Try component for the DVD player.

i'll probably get shot down in flames here, but i do have faith in quality scart leads and have found them to offer excellent picture quality where cheapos have failed. the Ixos range are good.

i agree with Scorpio, Sky into rgb scart - but dvd via good s-vhs leads (as you'll be using component for HD x-box pictures.

In that case, loop the DVD player into the VCR scart of the Sky box and then you can have either (both) sending an RGB signal to the Samsung.

Not the case...........recording on Sky+ is carried out through the F connectors and is independent from the scart signals.

I have just tested this by starting a recording and then paying a VCR trught the Sky+ to the TV. It works fine, so should do with DVD player.

The best setup you can have with this equipment is:

For Sky+ use SCART1 (RGB).

For PC use a DVI-HDMI lead.

For XBOX 360 buy the MS 360 VGA cable. (dont use component) Set the 360 to output at 1366x768 (panels native resolution) so the TV isnt doing any upscaling.

Then, bin the DVD player and use either PC or 360 to play dvds. You dont want a scabby non-progressive dvd player near your new TV.
