Now I know Coronation Street has been pretty dire recently on the continuity front but who is the producer who should be named and shamed?

Just over a week ago Danny kicked the daylights out of Jamie. The following episode his face was purple yet now as if by magic they have all gone!

Very bad continuity.

Just like how Rita and Audrey are now the best of friends. Before she left for Canada, they parted on very bad terms.

That doesn't come under the heading of continuity. It is most likely a deliberate decision; in soapland all timescales are shortened to avoid boring the viewer.

You may as well complain that there only seem to be four days in each week in Weatherfield (and three in Walford).

I think its a waste of time to worry too much about continuity in soaps, why explain everything when at any point characters can return with a new face and even their own Mothers don't notice!

I usually have blazing rows with people and the next time I see them it is all forgotten about, part of life.

That has always bugged me.

"Continuity" is all about ensuring that a character is wearing the same clothes and make-up in each scene. It is not about unrealistic timescales.

Some people will find any excuse to criticise a soap that is not their favourite one.
