From The Sun

By SARA NATHAN

EASTENDERS hardman Phil Mitchell is being lured into a honey trap by an undercover cop ... his new sweetheart Kate Tyler.

Burly Phil, played by Steve McFadden, 42, has fallen head over heels for brunette Kate, played by ex-Corrie actress Jill Halfpenny, 27.

But The Sun can reveal the pretty Geordie, seemingly a manicurist in the BBC1 soap, is actually a POLICE girl. And she is on a secret mission for the Old Bill to investigate the baffling disappearance of Phil’s former love Lisa Fowler.

Mechanic Phil, who is hoping to take Kate on a romantic trip to Paris, gets the shock of his life when he finds out.

The sensational story-line will form part of the lead up to revelations about Lisa’s fate.

An EastEnders source said: “Kate is all sweetness and light — she looks like butter wouldn’t melt.

“But the reality is that she’s just waiting for Phil to trip up. And he falls hook, line and sinker into her trap.”

The Sun has told how Steve and real-life partner Lucy Benjamin, 32, who plays Lisa, have already filmed scenes showing what happened to the mum, who vanished mysteriously in Portugal.

EastEnders bosses have ordered two outcomes, including Lisa’s death.

Viewers will be left on tenterhooks before discovering whether or not Phil murdered her.

Ohhh i cant wait! I wonder how they are deal with this storyline! No wonder Kate was in her car for sooo long in Mondays episode!!!! Oh my has she fallen for Phil ......You would of thought she had taste LoL.

If Lisa does end up dead, and the police have any evidence collected by Kate, then surely it will be seen as entrapment and he will get away with it!!!!!

Jail Cell maybe for Martin Fowler or if it's for Phil, then it will be for him when he's not being Interviewed, like supposed to be at a Police Station. For most Prison scenes they use an Abandoned prison somewhere in London that was used in Mean Machines and Bad Girls.

Yeah it is entrapment and he will get off with it, if he did it that is. If he did do it, then I think it would be a bad ending to the Story. I think that a great twist would be that Lisa had been stealing stuff, running up debt and conning tourists and people in Portugal and crossed a powerful gang who try to kill her as Phil shows up, fights them off, Lisa is wonded and tells Phil to take Louise and leave while he can.

There's no such thing as entrapment in this country - it doesn't apply. If it was in America, there'd be a problem, but not in EE.

I don't understand - How are they going to get the Slaters into it...perhaps Cat can be handcuffed to Phil and they hijack a plane to Portugal...Or perhaps someone will drink the last bit of milk and it'll upset Zoe so much she'll run away to Portugal and run into Phil.......

Surely they wouldn't go devote all that time and energy to one suspect (and one crime)? Is that why they don't have any resources to deal with burglary etc?

Yeah I'm not convinced by that either. She was in Byker Grove from the start and I remember her being a young teenager (13-14) when "Duncan" was still a little 10 year old. I'd say she's 30-31, no way is she the same age as Ant and Dec.

Yeah I don't think she's 27 Either. I think she must be at least 31. It seems a bit wierd. The character she is playing in Eastenders is 33, but it doesn't give you her Real date of birth.

Still it's not as bad as Kacey Ainsworth who is 33 in Real life and in the soap little Mo is only 26!

I'd say she's 30-31,
27 or 31. If I was Phil, I'd be quite happy bangin' me nail into her - whatever her age. She does look the naughty type.

She could easily be 27.

Look at Sarah Platt, she is coming upto 16, but Tina O'Brian who plays her is 18/19/20 somewhere around there.

And in Emmerdale the actor who plays Robert is in his early twenties, and Robert is 16/17!

Were you born stupid or was that something you had to work up to?

Ever hear of Colin Stagg and the Rachel Nickell murder? The trial collapsed because the police had entrapped him.

No need to be OTT , He said in EE - Eastenders not in the real world. I'm sure they will drag it out no matter what though.

The secret has been out for a couple of weeks, Scott Mills revealed it on R1's early breakfast show. The fact that it's taken this long to get to the papers shows how much notice people take of him.

Were you born rude, or was it something YOU had to work up to? What's CyberCD done to you to justify this rudeness, and would you be as rude to his face?

This has been fairly obvious for a while as was the Laura thing with a black baby. Im not complaining though as I think it would make for a good ending to the Lisa Storyline which has been dragged out. I can't see Phil going to jail for it, so he's either done it and will get away with it, as it is classed as Entrapment and the Colin Stagg case was the one I remembered. They probably will go through with a Trial, which ends up colapsing though. I know that he's going to South Africa, so it looks like it will be a flash back style episode.
