LCD Monitor or LCD Television

ok need some help here , my Sony CRT monitor is getting old now (6 yrs +) and while still working fine i have decided the time is right to switch to LCD .
The problem is do i go for a LCD Tv with Freeview HD and PC input and all that ...or would just a normal LCD monitor be better , i`m after a 26 " screen or 32" . I have checked a few Sony Bravia LCD`S and a few Samsung`s which looked good but i have yet to make up my mind .
I will use it for mainly gaming and watching videos/dvd and the usual PC stuff , not really bothered about Freeview as i have Cable Tv downstairs but just wondered are the LCD Tv`s better than a standard LCD monitor .

Any model numbers or advice would be grateful

Thanks

I have a 14" Samsung as a secondary output from my computer and the screen looks as good as it does on my computer monitor, computer monitors have got to be better in some way but it depend what your looking to use it for, if u need a tv as well go 4 tv

Not sure if this is still the case (I think it is) but one of the big differences between monitors and TVs is the viewing angle. Monitors, traditionally, are designed to be viewed almost straight on, whereas TVs have a much wider viewing angle (upto 178 at the moment).

Is that of importance to you?

i would probably only use the LCD for playing games mainly but i sometimes watch dvd`s or tv episodes i have downloaded ...ie Lost , Stargate , Supernatural from my bed which means the monitor would be tilted slightly . I have seen a Samsung 20" SM204BW which is only £220 , not sure if i should wait until after christmas though .
