it is the Framie storyline, so instead of saying Frankie and Jamie they shorten it

It saves us having to type out "the Frankie and Jamie storyline" each time we want to refer to it. Just one of those forum foibles.

The trend started with the Shannis storyline in EE (Sharon + Dennis).

I first saw this referred to in Heat magazine, but it might have appeared elsewhere first.

To annoy people

I hate things like Shannis & Framie, it makes me want to puke

Use proper names

I have always used 'Framie' in an ironic sense, as do most people...I think.

However 'Shannis' was a serious movement!

Was Molfie (Mo & Alfie) before or after that? I can't remember...

Molfie was after Shannis. I don't mind these silly names if used in a tongue-in-cheek way.

I wonder what will happen with Yotrick and Kevise in tonight's episode of EE?

"Bracey" is another quite common one.

I always assumed it was done for a couple with a big cult following (Bracey/Shannis), a long drawn-out saga (Molfie) or quite a controversial pairing (Shannis/Framie).

Although I don't really use them, it doesn't annoy me in the slightest as long as it's only done with a select few couples. If we started having Yotrick, Kevnise & Phella, it might get a bit much.

I wonder if Bo will still be a couple after this week's events?
