I have a Samsung HD850 DVD Player, and I recently purchased a Samsung R128 DVD Recorder. I use them both in the same location, underneath the TV.

Unfortunately both the remote controls control both the DVDs, e.g. if you press play on one it turns both machines on and plays the discs in both. This makes it very awkward to use the recorder and player at the same time.

Samsung support say that there is no solution to this; but does anyone out there have any ideas on how to alleviate this situation?

Short answer is: There's nothing you can do.

You'll find nearly all manufacturers remotes will operate different models.

You'll either have to move the DVD player somewhere else or by another brand player that doesn't respond to the Samsung recorder's remote.
