what are the differences between the toshiba 37wl66 and the 37wlt66 apart from the wlt version has freeview?
just wondering as i have sky and dont need freeveiw.
also what do people thing of digital direct.co.uk? as they are doing it for £799 delivered, but am a bit sceptical of buying from them as i normally go through currys or argos so i know i can return the tv if its faulty without hassle.
also if anyone has the 37wl66 can you tell me what the picture is like from sky box with a scart lead untill i get sky hd.

You are correct in thinking that the only difference is the Freeview tuner. I have got the 'T' version, and I am delighted with it.

As far as Digital Direct are concerned, I haven't used them personally, but I have seen them be recommended on here a few times.

I have that set. As I have just posted on another thread, these things don't work "optimally" straight from the box, and are "Rubbish In/Rubbish Out" devices, they show any anomoly in the signal for what it is.

The good thing is that they have feroudja chips, so their SD scaling and deinterlacing is as good as any "Reasonably Priced" DVD player claiming Feroudja support. These chips have tunable MPEG filters as well.

So if you have the time and patience you can get a damn good picture. Using my DVD player via Componenet and letting the Feroudja chip rip produces an astounding picture - but I can't say it's better or worse than other good LCD's.

I have SKY connected via RGB, and if the signal is good, the picture is superb. But any poorly encoded program is almost unwatchable. That's OK, that means the wifes watches Stricklty Come Dancing and The Price is Right in the bedroom.

The other (VERY minor) difference is the colour - the wlt's are black, where are the wl's are very dark gray.

Do you mean all channels via your SKY Hd box, or just the HD channels?
