For me it has to be the Sensational Alex Harvey Band playing "Delihah" from 1975. For those of you who have never seen it take a look here:

Wonderful stuff.

Good stuff too. I read John Otway's autobiography a few years ago. Great read!

Thanks for finding that clip - but there's some mistake: 29 YEARS AGO I remember it like it was last week!

Mind you I'm sure the clip differs slightly. I remember John Otway jumping on a Barretts amp, it fell over, and went dead! Or was that another performance they did?

'Twas certainly the way I remembered it. Otway ran at what I thought was a stack of speakers and ended up slumped on top of them, then the programme ended abruptly? Mind you, it IS 29 years ago...

David Bowie and the Spiders from Mars. Think they did Ziggy/Hunky Dory material. Golden days indeed

Shown on TOTP2 recently - wonderful stuff

John Otway, David Bowie, Keith Richards, Bob Marley, Roxy Music, Daryl Hall & John Oates, etc, etc, etc

My personal favourites, though, are any John Martyn appearance - I never met a musician more gifted

Focus. I became a fan on first hearing and have been ever since.

And Meatloaf's 'Bat Out Of Hell' - I thought I'd died and gone to Heaven.

Cocteau Twins performing The Spanglemaker in 1984. It's a pretty slow start but the finale is jaw droppingly beautiful...the finest female singer Scotland and perhaps Britain has ever produced.

Found it on You Tube but the finale is cut off

I missed that - the Cocteaus were one of the most underrated bands ever - their Tube performances just stunned me

What about Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd?

That for me was the defining moment of the OGWT.

Most requested song of all time on the programme. The fact that they did a whole programme devoted to Skynyrd 'Live' says it all. Superb performance from the band (get hold of the video). The greatest rock band of all time
