Pioneer 545HX Record 2 Programs Simultaneously?
freshness

Hi,

I've just bought a Pioneer DVR-545HX-S and am thrilled with it except for one thing:

If I schedule 2 programmes to record which start, for example, at 9pm tonight, one programme will record, and when one is over, the other will begin.

I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that the 545HX would be able to record 2 programmes at once, providing you leave it in Standby mode ? (therefore not using any of the 2 tuners, freeing them up for simultaneous recording).

Any info on this / opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Rich

I think you are out of luck. I have a 545HXS as well and there seems to be no way of recording two items at once, either from the tuners or from one tuner and an external input. It's probably because it's only got one encoder. Twin tuner PVRs which can record two programmes make do without an encoder and just record the digital stream.

Ooooooh bugger!

Thanks for the info.

Does anyone know of any PVRs which have this functionality (2 encoders and tuners)?

Cheers,
Rich
