Typical.

Again, no, or she wouldnt have been in the bottom two.”

Yes, she could be. If Louisa was bottom with the public, she'd have 2 points. If Emma was next, she'd have 6. Both the men would have to have 6 points, too, but would have more points from the public so be ahead of Emma.

I have sent a email of complaint to the bbc - surely they know how many people vote each week (and there was no metion of votes being adnormally high this week), the should have enough phone lines to cope with the demand and if they don't then there is no excuse.

Unless the rules have changed, they told us in series 2 that the public vote counts for 51% of the total, the Judge's scores = 49%.

Well done, I shall do the same or phone to complain.

Voting after the main show was fine for me, I got through to Matt's and Louisa's lines and voted okay, but it was after the Dance Off, her line was permanently blocked and BT couldn't cope. I am in the middle of London, so busy area yes, but still, it was all handled badly by the BBC IMO.

That's not true: if the leaderboard had been totally reversed, Louisa wouldn't have ended up in the bottom 2, if they had all had the same number of votes then she'd've beaten Matt by having more viewer votes.

No she wouldnt of had to have the least public votes, this could of had happened

judges public
mark 3 3 =6
matt 2 4 =6
emma 4 2 =6
louisa 1 1 =2

mark matt and emma could of all tied, the 2 couples with the most public votes would have gone through= mark and matt

in an tie the person with the most public votes go through,THEY NEVER ONCE metioned percentages on the show EVEN though you would get the same result anyway

The assertion that without the dance-off Louisa would have stayed is entirely false.

There are 4 scenarios which could have placed Emma & Louisa in the bottom two. These are, giving viewer points earned (and therefore total points in brackets):

Scenario A
Matt 4 (6)
Louisa 3 (4)
Mark 2 (5) [Mark above Emma based on viewer vote]
Emma 1 (5)

Scenario B
Matt 4 (6)
Mark 3 (6)
Louisa 2 (3)
Emma 1 (5)

Scenario C
Matt 4 (6)
Mark 3 (6)
Emma 2 (6) [Emma below Matt & Mark based on viewer vote]
Louisa 1 (2)

Scenario D
Mark 4 (7)
Matt 3 (5) [Matt above Emma based on viewer vote]
Louisa 2 (3)
Emma 1 (5)

If there had been no dance-off, and the lines had closed at the time they were frozen, these four scenarios would have given Louisa and Emma the following combined scores:

Judges points + Viewer points = Total points

Scenario A
Emma 4 + 1 = 5
Louisa 1 + 3 = 4

Scenario B
Emma 4 + 1 = 5
Louisa 1 + 2 = 3

Scenario C
Emma 4 + 2 = 6
Louisa 1 + 1 = 2

Scenario D
Emma 4 + 1 = 5
Louisa 1 + 2 = 3

Therefore, if the show had taken the regular format (and assuming identical voting patterns) Louisa would have been out.

The dance-off (because it was based only on viewer votes) actually gave Louisa a chance to go through. (And it should be noted that Emma was not necessarily bottom of the public vote before the dance-off anyway (see Scenario C).)

FYI they DID state that in series 2, as I mentioned in my post.

With the phone call thing, i voted for Emma and Darren couldn't get through on a number of occasions; so it could have been BT having genuine problems.

Moan moan moan, you're simply sore losers.

Funny how whenever there's a big national vote on tv between two people the losers fans complain they couldn't get through on the phone blah blah blah....

I hate to say this, but I tried Emma's line 10 times, and couldn't get through once.

We had people trying to vote for both Emma and Louisa from our house, and on a both landline and mobile, but no one could get through.

Actually, my brother kept on trying to get through to Emma, and that linehave phone problems too, so it isn't just Louisa with blocked lines. Aww, I wish this week was actually the final...

No, I'm glad you posted bunty, and thanks to the other Emma voters too. It's reassuring to know that at the end of the day Louisa & Vincent's time had come to leave, as apparantly even without the Dance Off vote they would've been bottom and had to go.
So I just have to say Farewell, So Long, Auf Wiedersehen to the pair, it was huge fun!! Thankyou!!

Thanks humphrey! I was working round to these sorts of deductions (that Emma needn't have been bottom with the public and Louisa couldn't have been top), but your version is rather more thorough. (Not that I'm that happy about it... )

I tried to vote for Louisa and the phone line was busy

They have to limit the number of lines provided in each area otherwise the network would snarl up. That means that the voting for the dance off probably went something like Emma in the lead, Louise in the lead and vice versa for about 5 Minutes which means they had control of when the voting plug was pulled and control over who went through. To come top by the judges and then joint bottm means that she must have had the worst phone vote out of the four, Why then did she come top out of two?
Fix? certainly.

I've always thought this show was fair but after this year wouldn't trust it ever again.

I got thru one vote in 50 times for Mark earlier in the evening and actually called the Beeb to register a complaint- I tried continually for Louisa and did not get one vote in for her- not one in half an hour which is appalling- this was a fix from the start- if Mark had not been marked as badly for his jive he would have been top and Emma would most definitely have been out I think

i found it impossible to get through and so thought she was safe to be honest. my friend was voting for emma and had no trouble getting through.

it is all a fix emma was always going to be safe becasue the beeb want her to be. which is why she always got higher votes for poorer dances than louisa
