I don't think the judges have a plan

I really don't think that the judges have a plan to eliminate or save a particular couple each week.

In the early stages of the competition it would be far too much trouble for them to sit and plot exactly what position everybody would have to be in after their marks because you can't predict the public vote.

And in the later stages of the contest, the public vote is not 100 % predictable and has far too much sway for the judges to be sure of what ranking they should give.

I'm not saying the judges don't have their favourites, because clearly they do (with the possible exception of Len). But are all 4 of them working together every week to fix the result? I think not!

Any other there-is-no-conspiracy theorists out there?

I don't know anymore. Look up the threads where we all posted on what changes we would like to see for the next series, for the dancers and teachers views on proper judging!

All I know is that i have lost all respect for Len after his comment on Emma's Rumba. All along he's been banging on about basic steps and there being not enough recognisable steps in each dance and dances being "all sizzle and no sausage" and tonight he does a complete 180 and says that Emma's Rumba is representative of the way Rumba is danced these days.

He's lost the plot and if we get a series 5 I do hope we get a different panel.

course they do, mark and emma in the final brucey goes who do you think should win craig len arlene bruno? oh i don't know this is so hard they've both been so consistent (sp) and have done so so so well so get this far but if i had to choose someone it would have to be emma. arlene would probably be the only one to say mark just to make it less obvious and then tess announces emma as the winner and gets a standing ovation mark stands there gutted which he should and there you go.

then we'd have emma on the front of newspapers and magazines and tele every week till she gets dropped by her label and she then signs up for IACGMOOH next year.

No but I think they are open to "suggestions"

I believe it was significant that when it came to a "dance off" even a seventeen year old had worked out she was on the way out, whatever she did.
The BBC aren't as clever as they think they are.

Exactly! Which is why I think there is no plan - it would be too difficult to work out.

The Beeb can't predict the public's reaction to things. They ought to know by now that blatent favouritism and overmarking leads to a backlash, but other things like mentioning injuries or wheeling out the cute kids and celebrity friends affects people in different ways. Some are annoyed by the excuses or find the appeals for votes vomit-inducing, whereas others will think look how they've soldiered on and X is supporting them so I will too.

Thess, your comments surely echo the view of everyone who has spent many years learning and perfecting the technique of proper ballroom and latin dancing. Len Goodman's 9 for that rumba was an affront to every dance teacher in the country!

Dancin' Doc.

Hi Blomes. As I recall we were pretty much on the same side of the fence last series - you and I had a right good natter over Zoe's markings!

I have been holding off crying fix, but Len's comments tonight were astounding. His score was completely unjustified and it seemed that he was trying to find a way of backing it up.

Didn't see Len's mark coming

As usual I was completely confused. I knew if I stalked you I would eventually understand - or at least be more informed as to why I'm confused.
