Okay - I started this thread off before and it got taken off because some of the posts got nasty and were going on about weight/etc which this has got NOTHING to do with!

I just wanted to voice my opinion that I have found Karen increasingly irritating over the series. I have enjoyed some of her dances but I find her SOOO over emotional and self involved.

And tonight was a perfect example. I was so pissed off when she just TALKED AND TALKED AND TALKED when it was the judges turn.

If she mentions her 'WONDERFUL' career one more time I'm going to scream!

I just find her so irritating and I think her histronics are just detracting from Marc who I do think is great!

I just find her over the top! And while she goes on and on about how 'passionate' she is about dance - I think she's just trying to steal the lime light from others!

I thought she was over the top with Bill last year - especially with the pathetic note she gave to Tess at the end!

(Please try and keep the comments away from REALLY personal comments about the way she looks because it was why this was removed in the first place! )

I LOVE Karen!! She is beautiful and passionate and everything a male celebrity should want in a pro-partner.
She may go over the top - but somebody needs to say something about the ridiculous comments that are made (sometimes) by the judges!

To be fair she did have a wonderful career, she's a legend. She only really mentioned it in reference to the jive which was 'her dance'. However sometimes when the judges criticise Mark she doesn't always help the situation with what she says. I still love her though!

I think Karen has a lovely, bubbly personality.

However, I do think she should concentrate a bit more on making Mark look good. Tonight she said she had sacrificed her dance (the jive) to make Mark better at the ballroom. If that was the sacrificed version, I hate to see how difficult the choreography would have been for a dance she hadn't sacrificed!

Perhaps by sacrifice she meant they hadn't practiced it as much, rather than the choreography. but if she knew they were concentrating on the ballroom, wouldn't it have made sense to have choreographed a much simpler routine for the jive?

Essh - all the people who didn't like Karen from the previous thread have disappeared - ahh well, maybe not the end of the world ;o)

I recognise she probably was a fantastic dancer in her own time - but I just feel she comes over extremely bitter about her previous career - check out her website and her 'personal story' - it just seems to desperate to convince the world of her loss and her general wonderfulness and success!

I guess I just prefer the modesty of the other dancers (excluding Brendan!) who don't go on and on about there careers! (esp Darren and Lillia and Vicent and Flavia who are like current world champions!)

I seem to remember the comments on your original post were pretty personal too. Just because they didn't go on about her size it doesn't mean they weren't personal. You questioned her very career.

Here's the test!
Imagine Karen is stood right in front of you....ok?.....now say the same words.....words like "get over it"...would you realy be bold enough to do that?

I don't the complaint that she goes on about her "Wonderful career" the only time it has been mentioned was by Craig tonight

She was a World champion she has every reason to sing it from the rooftops.

she doesnt talk about her career that often and you got her story wrong there, she is not like that at all

Karen was awesome in the jive tonight and IMHO is one of best pro dancers on the show.

However, sometimes I also find her a bit annoying and wonder if she is taking votes away from Mark by her interuptions to the judges and overly passionate responses to criticism.

I'm glad that she and Mark live to fight another day as I think that Mark has had some great dances but I'm not sure that I would favour them over the remaining dancers. For me it really does all depend on performances on the night from here on in.
who me?

I loved the jive but agree that Karen's remarks about sacrificing it were a little misjudged. She doesn't always say the right things that's for sure. But thats' partly why I like her, she's very spontaneous. If she was a bloke would you get so upset? I like her feisty nature.

I think calling Karen bitter doesn't seem to square with anything i have heard about her, read (including on her website) or seen of her, but we all perceive things differently.

Okay....imagining Karen...in front of me....really imagining ......lets see...

'GET OVER IT'!

See I can do it!

OKay - I get your point though!

No - I think its okay to question the way she behaves - look at any other thread on this forum!!!!! I don't support bashing her because of her size - I don't think thats right...and I'm not questioning the brilliance of her career, I questioning her attitude to it!

She irritates me! I understand there are a lot of Karen fans out there - and your all entitled to an opinion! I respect that, I really do.

I think we are all allowed to comment on what people say and how people behave - freedom of speech and all that!!!!!!!

Sometimes Karen does or says things which annoy me. But, like someone else said, thats what I like about her. She's honest, open and very real. She's kinda over the top and down to earth at the same time.

She is also a fantastic dancer, and is very well respected. People, like Karen, who have been at the top of their game have to believe in themselves to have done well.

Also if she is as vain, self absorbed and arrogant as you seem to think she is how comes she has managed to form great friendship's with both Bill Turnball and now with Mark whom both speak very highly of her?

She had written a note and put it up her sleeve the week her and Bill went out, I think she had a feeling it would be them that week. It basically said how much she enjoyed dancing with Bill and what a fab time she'd had on the show. She gave it to Tess to read as she knew she'd be too emotional to say it herself!

Karen knew she would cry when she and Bill were voted out, so she wrote what she wanted to say on a note for Tess to read out. It was about how she'd loved dancing with him and stuff.

And if I remember correctly, it ended with "I can now be happy to hang up my dancing shoes again" or something like that. I could be wrong on that, though. If I'm right, she obviously changed her mind!

When she was voted out (she was with Bill) while he said nice and pleasent things about her (which she mentions in her website!) she tearfully handed Tess a note which Tess did NOT read out in full (they did it on ITT later!) to say, basically all about her.

Bill said in an interview how he didn't realise initially what a big thing it was for Karen, apparently she sobbed in her dressing room (she says this on her website too!) before every show because she was so emotional about coming back after her amazing career. Bill said in a radio interview how emotional she was and that it sometimes ditracted from the dancing because she would have to leave and cry and how his experience was over shadowed by hers.

This is when it started to irritate me - she is a bit like Brendan - the competition is more about her then her partner!
