Bill said in an interview how he didn't realise initially what a big thing it was for Karen, apparently she sobbed in her dressing room (she says this on her website too!) before every show because she was so emotional about coming back after her amazing career. Bill said in a radio interview how emotional she was and that it sometimes ditracted from the dancing because she would have to leave and cry and how his experience was over shadowed by hers.

This is when it started to irritate me - she is a bit like Brendan - the competition is more about her then her partner!”

you make it sound like Bill saw her as a burden, that cant be more wrong

Just as a side line, as regards bashing her because of her size I have seen her in the flesh, and like most dancers, she is tiny. She also comes across as a genuinely lovely person, very extrovert and funny. Maybe she should hold her tongue sometimes, but I think she's the sort of person that her heart rules her head.

See I can do it!

OKay - I get your point though!

No - I think its okay to question the way she behaves - look at any other thread on this forum!!!!! I don't support bashing her because of her size - I don't think thats right...and I'm not questioning the brilliance of her career, I questioning her attitude to it!

She irritates me! I understand there are a lot of Karen fans out there - and your all entitled to an opinion! I respect that, I really do.

I think we are all allowed to comment on what people say and how people behave - freedom of speech and all that!!!!!!! ”

Bearing in mind how long she trained to be a dancer, how many hours, how many miles travelled, how many competitions, how many difficulties, how much happiness.....I know I wouldn't dream of saying get over it to her.

Absolutely right that we cme on here and have opinions....nobody here is saying anyone can't. The issue is when it gets hurtful, clumsy, and provocative.

Oh - my mistake! They are very high in there field though, right? Aren't they British Champions or something?

I remember reading on here how they have recently won something....not sure!

Okay - all I'm saying is that I wouldn't mind Karen being proud of her career but she is so sort of desperate about it. Does anyone remember last year on ITT when she was talking to Claudia about it - and went on and on and wouldn't say why she broke with her partner...she doesn't really say why she retired on her website either....anyone know????

I agree she is sometimes over-emotional and passionate (and can see why that annoys some people), but TBH it's the reason I think she's great, as a dancer and a teacher

I remember with Bill last year at the end of one dance he completely lost the plot, forgot all his steps and they got through the last thirty seconds or so with her telling him what step to do next - she doesn't just teach her partner a routine, she actually teaches them to dance. The judges then went on to rave over the last part of the dance

Erm...sort of!! they did well to beat Paul and Olga in that competition though who have been in major finals consistently and James and Ola, who are improving rapidly. Not quite the same as beating the likes of the Cutlers or the current world's top 8, but will give you the benefit of the doubt!!

I like the professional dancers to have some personality and to share their passion for dance. For me they are the real stars of the show and I especially like the ones like Brendan and Karen who openly show their feeings.

It really irritates me the people that go round threads with really obvious headings and then tries to shut people up!

If you don't like them don't read them!

I have labelled it as clearly as possible so that people don't think that they are coming onto something else!!!

There is always one person on all the threads saying 'oh please don't let up talk about it'!!!!!

Forums are designed for discussion - stop trying to suffocate it and go on the hundreds of kiss arsey threads (of which I too am a proud contributer!!! )

LET PEOPLE TALK ABOUT WHAT THEY WANT TOO!

Karen does my head in with her "I'd like to teach the world to dance" gushing, and her constant talking during the judges comments, going on about how hard Mark's worked and how difficult that particular dance is (which applies to all contestants so is not worth mentioning). And I think she puts a lot of people off voting for Mark so I do heartily wish she would be quiet sometimes.

But, I've never got the impression that she goes on about her own former career, or that this competition is more about her than her partner. For all her faults, she comes across as a team player.

Just the very lack of information means that commenting on it is not warranted.
