washed out picture

Hello,
I have the following setup:
1. sky+ to a video recorder (JVC) and in parallel to the tv(JVC).
2. from the video recorder to a DVD recorder (liteon) then onto the TV.

I have scart and RF in daisy chain fom sky+, video, dvd recorder and TV

The problem I have is that the picture is very washed out when viewing through the sky+ - video - DVD - tv channel, but clear through the sky+ - tv channel. Is this normal? Any suggestions for improving matters?

Thanks

Wayne

The normal way of connecting these would be

Sky+ TV scart -> DVDR input scart
DVDR output scart -> TV RGB input scart
Sky+ VCR scart -> VCR scart.

Make sure that Sky+ and DVDR output is set to RGB. I don't know whether your DVDR accepts RGB inputs (Liteon models vary) but if so then set that input to RGB (it will take RGB in pass through I think).

Just chain the RF through each device if you still weant to use it, I'd recommend just into the DVD then into the TV ignoring Sky+ and DVDR.

Make sure you use the RGB scart on the TV. Many TVs have one RGB scart and one composite (S-Video sometimes) as the second one.
