Shane Ritchie in EE - no longer needed!!!
I was watching EE today and I noticed that the actor who plays Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels) has much better scope and acting skills than Shane Ritchie (who could only blub and be anoying) and I am glad that EE have found a much better replacement with someone who is both endearing and sensitive with his character, does anyone agree with me?

I've never made any comparisons between Kevin and Alfie before, but I prefer Kevin. I was never an Alfie fan.

I Loved Alfie he was a great Character and it would be great if Him and Kat returned and set up home like a family. It would be brilliant if the whole later famiy were reunited in the square like it was before at the beggining. It would be great to see Kat and Alfie with a new baby and bringing him up.

Alfie was great when he first came into the show. He really brightened the place up... until they started giving him dreary depressing storylines. That's when they ruined him altogether.

I couldnt stand Alfie. For a start Shane Ritchie wasnt actually acting, just playing himself, and this became more and more apparent. It was like they based the character on Shane. The whole way they portrayed him made me wanna vomit. The "Alfie can work miracles" storylines were especially nauseating, not to mention his quiverring lip, and the way he said "Pleassshhhhhh" instead of please.
In fact I would go as far as to say that you can trace EE's awful period to Alfie's arrival. Now he's gone it's gradually getting better. When Alfie arrived, everyone was praising the character. I was gobsmacked, I just thought what a cliched, poorly played, pile of crud. |

Like the walford football team, the 'hilarious' serach for a condom, or the way he fed 5000 dinnerless people at Christmas? I preferred him when he was miserable tbh.

I did like Alfie, although I know many viewers didn't. To be honest I don't think any soap "needs" a particular character no matter how popular they are. We may think it's a shame they've left, but the show carries on regardless. When it comes to it the real star is the show itself, not the actors in it.

My thoughts entirely - long live Kat and Alfie, and damn you, those who wish his character had never existed. And Shane Richie CAN act - check out his crying over Kat and Nana. Last edited by adam_fransella : 10-12-2006 at 22:04. |

and there was no way for the scriptwriters to reflect her absence, apart from Kat walking out on him and then cheating on him? Alfie didn't deserve to be more unlucky than Billy Mitchell - if I ruled EE, both would be more fortunate, plus Sam Mitchell and others. |

I'm glad some people agree with what I'm saying -
though I despised seeing Alfie get hurt physically and thought the condom episode was over-rated and unfunny! |
