Does anyone have either of these budget DVD players and care to advise specifically on

a) picture quality in general
b) Region 1 playback quality
c) zoom effectiveness on a letterbox movie?

I would recomend the Alba, dont have one but bought one for the in laws at Chrimbo , and had to check it before I gave it away
Was surprised with its playback, no probs at all with any disc I threw at it.
And now only £60 for it at argos , althoughits called the Roadster 114 or sommit.

I bought a Naiko N-2081 from Safeway for £59-95.

Fantastic value - multiregion out of the box. It also plays mp3s.

It is quite happy with DVD +RW disks written from my computer (I'm using TDK disks - I've heard that it may not like some brands). So I've now got my entire music collection on 5 dvds. Which is very convenient.

The Cyberhome players are better than the Alba one. They looka bit cheap and nasty but they have instead spent the money on making the machine as good as it can be. They really are the best DVD players you can get for under £150 and will outperform alot of the machines in the £150-250.

If your aftera budget player these are the way to go
