XBOX 360 1080p and Sony LCD TV
I've got a Sony Bravia KDL40W2000 TV and it's great. Having issues with getting my Xbox 360 to view as 1080p. Screen just goes black. I am only using the component connection, and I have downloaded the update for 1080p from Microsoft.
Does anyone else have this setup? - and are they getting 1080p? Will the VGA cable give me 1080p resolution, I don't mind purchasing it if it will, otherwise I don't see the point, Cheers all |

I appreciate you're talking about the W series but I have seen a number of posts over on the avforums regarding the X2000 model. I would suggest that given the similarity in the specs the following is still valid.
.. " The telly isnt currently capable of doing 1080p via either component or VGA.. Component can do 1080p its when flagging appears on films it can get blocked (so dependant on format) you can use it for games if the television supports it of course. We need HDMI for 360 basically or a patch! 360 wont do 1080p unless its via VGA for films so where stuffed until they release the HDMI lead as you will never get this unit to do 1080p as the max resolution it supports via VGA port is 1360x768 " The only solution as I read it is for Microsoft to release an HDMI cable for the 360. |
